I personally feel the car is out of the window, The fact that both drivers were finding this car hard to handle , hack sawing at the wheel in S2 is quite frankly beyond a joke and these were in cooler conditions, could of been worse if that qualy session was in hot conditions . Tomorrow will be a struggle to keep the Ferrari's at bay.

No 2 ways to slice it, that was disappointing; with those results, the oddity is Merc. We’ve clearly regressed into the clutches of Ferrari rather than maintain a fight with the front pack. Pray for rain.

it is odd that at other rear limited circuits they werent that far off, less than 3 tenths off from Charles, less than a tenth off from Mclaren in Monaco and 2 tenths in Austria but 6 tenths here. I thought this would be a very good track for the Merc, the track temps even dropped by almost 30 degrees from yesterday

Apparently, temps still too high according to HAM even though they dropped. Rapid in Q1 and got increasingly slower/competition found more speed. I need an explainer on the temps issue.

Toto also said the run plan with RUS was fast - slow - fast, and RUS did two fast ones instead or something.

P5 is a good place to attack. Dispatch Sainz at the start and follow Max and pick up the peices when the inevetiable crash happens.

Hopefully theyre working on fixing the car being bad in high temps, there's tracks like Baku, Singapore and COTA coming right after the summer break, all in a row, two of which are also rear limited and all 3 usually hot

On the issues with Lewis Hamilton: “I think, probably the car could’ve been two tenths off but we were going up and down with tyre temperatures and it was tricky to find the middle ground to give him a car that had grip.”

On the issues with George Russell: “He should’ve had the first lap in when Lewis went P1, instead it was probably taken too easy. And then the other one, we put fuel for a different run plan, fast slow fast – he decided to do three fast laps. But overall I think it’s 70% the team’s mistake on not fuelling one lap more.”

In just one corner HAM was 17kph slower than NOR and lost almost half a tenth only there ...
Their low-speed cornering seems to be either poor or just MCL38's rear suspension setup is softer than W15's and provides more traction out of low-speed corner exits, which hints towards a 3-stop race rather than a 2-stopper as HAM`s car is set for ...

Another curious thing was done at FP3 after HAM`s spin ... he just went into the pits and was the last driver exiting for the last run, then he stopped for some 10 seconds before turn 4 and then went full speed towards the pits, Bono complementing that it was a good job ... could enlight me, someone, what he did there?
