They had 2-3 more laps on Lewis before needing to pit. And the offset to Verstappen will be significant towards the end of the race. Verstappen is not out of the equation here.

I don´t get it. when you need 1 driver in front than say it and do it, no problem in this wdc stand. There is no need to risk that the med tire fall of at the end and got caught by someone else.

They are the team in front... at least on this track, and they still have second violin mindset... that just doesn't work.

Max was catching Lando drastically. The RBR is still fast. They couldn't just sit and let everyone past, and Max catch up.
