I think Lando is always handy when the car gets lighter.
But I think Lando would not have got past had he not had the undercut, or at least it is far from clear he would have got past. Look how hard Max fought against a slower Hamilton.
Fight for what title? The only title there's a slim chance of fighting for is the constructors and they earned 43 points today. Lando was given the undercut advantage, you never know what's going to happen in the pits, so he needed to cover Lewis. He was made aware of this, so not seeing the problem. You have to coexist with a team mate that you may need a favour from in the near future IF the title fight is on. There may be times when Oscar's strategy may get compromised to favour Lando, it's the way F1 goes.
We had the fastest car at this track, that's it.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 16:50First things first. Mclaren from old. 1-2 and the empire strikes back. We can say that we now have the fastest car. Now regarding the strategy. What the hell is the team doing? Norris is challenging for the championship. Why force him into a 78 points difference instead of a 70 points difference. They have damaged Norris's psychology.

Was it that stupid? Max was catching and lewis and Leclerc were catching. He only came out 4 seconds clear, and with a 2.3 stop. You can't make it more difficult than needs be.
Yeah, it took the shine off Oscar's win. Poor decision, there was no risk to Lando.
I think they wouldn't take the risk. The same was the case in Italy 2021.
Yes, it is incredibly stupid. Both cars within 2 seconds and you have a 6-7 seconds cushion to the guy you want to cover.
