When Mercedes complain about flexible wings every team on the grid has cameras and dots applied to their rear wings, when Redbull complains it’s only “selected” teams .
The FIA really doesn’t help themselves over accusations of favouritism.
They have done so before, IIRC, on the rear wing flexing. But in their selection they included both the suspected team(s) and the complaining team itself, so no favouritism. I expect the same now.morefirejules08 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2024, 08:48When Mercedes complain about flexible wings every team on the grid has cameras and dots applied to their rear wings, when Redbull complains it’s only “selected” teams .

Was that not all but 2 teams, and all drivers that complained about bouncing? bit harsh to put it all on just Merc.
It has been alleged that the FIA has required Red Bull (and Ferrari) remove some illegal parts of their cars. This coincided with Red Bull losing their lead and suddenly complaining about other teams.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 11:55It almost makes you wonder if close racing is actually the goal, or?
It could also be a universal coincidence that Red Bull was the only top 6 team slower at Hungary in 2024 than in 2023.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 13:06It has been alleged that the FIA has required Red Bull (and Ferrari) remove some illegal parts of their cars. Probably a conspiracy hypothesis, but this is F1 and we know how the FIA and teams love to play games.
Verstappen was stuck for a long time behind Hamilton, so he could hardly show his true pace for much of the race.Quantum wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 11:49It could also be a universal coincidence that Red Bull was the only top 6 team slower at Hungary in 2024 than in 2023.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 13:06It has been alleged that the FIA has required Red Bull (and Ferrari) remove some illegal parts of their cars. Also in terms of form, a marked change which cannot now be dismissed as a flash in the pan.

I'm not familiar with Antonio Lobato. But he has a sizable following, some decent scoops and with credibility in the paddock. The rumour surrounding the changes the FIA asked Red Bull to make, emanated from Lobato who said he got it from 2 separate teams.

Is this just rumour, or are we seeing more examples of the FIA being closed shop for some and not others?
If he didn't have the pace to overtake Hamilton how was he going to overtake the McLarens?Tvetovnato wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 12:44Verstappen was stuck for a long time behind Hamilton, so he could hardly show his true pace for much of the race.Quantum wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 11:49It could also be a universal coincidence that Red Bull was the only top 6 team slower at Hungary in 2024 than in 2023.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 13:06

Well, that kind of analysis gives the impression that RB lost a lot of raw pace compared to last year, when in fact they haven’t, it was other factors influencing their ultimate pace which does not show in those stats.Quantum wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 12:57If he didn't have the pace to overtake Hamilton how was he going to overtake the McLarens?Tvetovnato wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 12:44Verstappen was stuck for a long time behind Hamilton, so he could hardly show his true pace for much of the race.Quantum wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 11:49

Off-topic and pretty moot tangential there IMO
Might be a telling story….morefirejules08 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2024, 09:40So it looks like the teams selected are McLaren, Mercedes, Aston Martin and Sauber. Of course Redbull aren’t on of the selected teams.
