Well that ended weirdly. Good strategy by Ferrari there saving a set.

Is red bull the only car running a higher downforce wing? This could've helped them in the wet but might hurt them if it's dry tomorrow?

Does anyone know the wing levels?

From what I have gathered, Red Bull went back to FP1 levels.

Based on the speed traps and the S2 times it seems that:

VER and PER opted for a higher DF setup
NOR and PIA for a lower DF setup, presumably due to a better tyre management
HAM for a higher DF setup and RUS for a lower one
LEC same as HAM and SAI as RUS

So if we`ll have a clean turn 1 start then I think we should have in a good race tomorrow ...

If there is no first lap crash drama, I expect Mclarens to get to P1-P2 latest by lap10.
If Max starts on H, he has a chance to get to podium, as he doesn't need to preserve tyre when chasing the cars ahead.
I don't think Max can finish P1, the best he might do is P2 with P1 going to a McLaren.
Unless he does something dumb, Perez has a chance to finish within top 5. Expecting LeClerc to finish P4.

Most of all, what I loved about quali is that my list of 'alien talent' drivers - VER, HAM, LEC, ALO crushed their teammates in the same car -0.6, -0.35, -0.7, -1.5

Had a feeling McLaren ran both cars too low yesterday, they were scraping the plank through entire S2 basically, their relative drop in pace might be explained by this. Can't be tyre warmup, they don't have those issues at all. We'll see what happens tomorrow

Yesterday... Edited, thanks

Just seen Mercedes were the only of Top 4 to run with two-piece beam wing in the end, Hamilton may be easy pray to McLarens very early in the race

but at the same time Hamilton was fast enough everywhere, it seems to me that after the new parts were removed Mercedes clearly improved a lot, but we'll see tomorrow, in the last races Mercedes was about 0.1-0.2 tenths behind McLaren

I don't see a big enough difference in the high speed sector to suggest McLaren will simply breeze through the field.

The finish line speed also suggests that acceleration wasn't as good as especially Red Bull. The only way McLaren move forward is going to be heavily reliant on DRS.

It just doesn't look like the easy win for them that's being suggested
