Russell was pretty average and slow, until he made a superb call, which trumped the rest. Amazing really. It’s a superb tyre whispering drive, but Russell didn’t even need to defend really at all. Lewis couldn’t really get close.

A combination of shorter DRS, high deg and hot temps played a part. Overtaking wasn't easy today. Look at how Norris couldn't pass Verstappen on fresher tyres. Who would have thought a one stop would have worked
