Difference is Slammer and I weren't arguing (mind if I call you Slammer? :) ), I was just asking him how he could have an opinion like he does, based on the facts he gave me.

He then expanded on those facts and gave me other ones that showed me more completely, as I had asked, of his view.

Even though I don't exactly agree with his view of Massa or Alonso, he has done a fine job of explaining how he has come to his opinions.

IF F1 is saved from its current drama with the budget cap and twin tier regs, id recon that Alonso to Ferari is a banker.

I recon theres gonna be alot of upheaval in the silly season this year with up to 3 new teams and alot of sillyness to go with the drivers of each team.

The way i see it is this:

Ferarri: Massa/Alonso RD: Badoer
McLaren: Hamilton/Sutil RD: Di La Rossa
Renault: Hekki/Grosjean TD: Di Grasi
BMW Sauber: Heidfeld/Kubica TD: Klien
Toyota: Glock/Kobyashi TD: Truli
Red Bull: Vettel/Buemi TD: Red Bull young driver
Williams: Rossberg/Hulkenberg TD: New up and coming young driver
Force India: Di Resta/Liuzzi TD: Fisi
Toro Rosso: Hartley/Piquet TD: Same as Red Bull
Brawn GP: Button/Senna TD: Rubens
USGPE: Patrick/Another US driver TD: US driver

Divers looking for a drive: Sato, Nakajimma, plenty of guys from GP2 and A1GP like Adam Carrol, Philipe Alberqurke are just 2 i can mention.

But the silly season has only just begun.

Alonso easily gets frazzled and then quickly turns on his team, and that will not endear him with the red team., but as you said maybe he has learned from his time at McLaren... but hearing what I have from him both this year & last I highly doubt it.
Exactly my thought on the Spanish gentleman. He has his clique of Spanish journos who wine and dine him on monday for hot quotes and he always spills the beans to them. This habit can drive a team like Ferrari nuts. Watch how they always have a press pussy with a recorder along when one of their drivers open their mouth for more than an icecream.

Alonso has outqualed Hamilton every race but 1 this season(R29 faster), but Hamilton has beat him to the checkered flag in every race but 1(better driver)... so maybe Alonso should try "boneing it" for 20 laps or so whatever that means.
Before Montmelo, because I haven't made my mind about McLaren updates, the R29 was worse on traction than the MP4-24, but had better aero. On fumes, the R29 is most likely the better car, but what many people fail to see is that on race trim, with fuel, the MP4-24 is not such a bad car. Not at all. It was probably a better car than the Renault in Melbourne and almost certainly in Bahrein. I expect it to be better at Monaco, too.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

I'm guessing RD means "Reserve Driver" and TD means "Test Driver"?
Why do some teams have one and some the other?

A few of your choices confused me ESP.

Can you explain why you think McLaren would sign Sutil. Why Trulli would end up as a Test Driver instead of racer.
Mainly why Toro Rosso would sign Piquet Jnr and Force INdia would sign Liuzzi.

I'm curious to see what your reasoning is.

And why do you think Weber will be gone from Red Bull?

If anything, he has been a mild surprise (more of a reminder) that he is still very very quick in the right car, and is keeping Vettel honest. You saw him passing Alonso in the last race right? That was awesome race craft.

And just because Hamilton and Sutil are lovers, does not mean they should be on the same team. Hamilton works very hard and lives in the Tech Center half the time, and Sutil has a reputation for being lazy, and only doing what he needs to, which is the difference between good and great drivers.

Your list is kind of nuts, for these points, and the ones listed prior to my post.

I'll answer that no problem, because Hamilton asked for it...

Well - I think it might even be possible to see Kimi and Fernando switching driver seats in the running season. I would miss Alonso at Renault - but I would like to see Kimi there as well... don´t think he lost his "Mojo". Ferrari might not just be the right team for him.

Ferrari and Mclaren will just continue the trend of swapping back and forth between major sponsors for the next 10 years.

I think Ron took a lot of pride in wrenching the Vodafone sponsorship from Ferrari.

What are the chances of Marlboro going back to MacLaren?

Macca would have to be looking for another premium sponsor now wouldn't they? With the loss of Santander, and the potential loss of mercedes to Brawn, it looks like they may be strapped for cash.

Malboro would actually making money on the Santander contract.
Philip Morris bought all available space on the Ferrari back in 2005 until 2012 for about $1.1b
They are able to, and do, sell-on this space to other sponsors to recoup their costs (i'm guessing Ferrari would hold the right of veto tho). i'd suspect the Santander deal is done in this fashion.

I'm assuming Philip Morris will leave F1 after 2011. at that stage Santander would deal directly with Ferrari for its remaining 3yrs.

McLaren will probably just up its commitment with Vodafone (who've been very active with promotions & viral marketing with the team). Otherwise Bernie recently hinted that a handful multinationals are now waiting to get into F1, now that the politics have calmed..
