Yeah unfortunately you could say that about 4 or 5 drivers to be honest. For a championship touted as the best in the world you'd expect the drivers to be the best in the world, and yet they aren't.

the annoying thing about F1/FOM/FIA is they never extend sessions. Teams spend millions and fans travel to show up for a weekend and a 1hr session that is cut to 35mins and is essentially useless doesn't get a full 1hr running. A 1hr session should be 1hr of actual action. Shame on F1.

Hello guys, i too had a long break from F1 and didn't realize that the dutch GP is this weekend until someone reminded me (I was under the impression it was on the last weekend of august).

Anyway, didn't watch any of the FPs and there is no meaningful data from the timing sheets ; as I came to know that apart from a few minutes in FP2, rest of all the three sessions were wet/red flags etc, and there are engine mode games as well - so the scope for 'derived from data' info is very less I assume.

Hence my Q is to those who actually watched the inboards and outboards in the FPs - which top four car 'looks' horrible and which one 'looks' nailed on ? Redbull/Ferrai and McLaren/Mercedes ?
Particularly, how does Sector2 look for the teams ? Whichever driver/car nails down sector 2 (coming out of 3-4-5, some proper sweepers 7-8-9-10 with their inherent elevation changes, all the way until the big braking for T10. This 7-8-9-10 is the 'driver's contribution' part of the ckt, where subtle differences in the lines chosen can gain/cost many chunks of time.

Ferrari bad especially s2, Merc/McLaren/RB hard to separate but advantage McLaren based on the long run. RB good in high speed, Mcl/Merc are good in low speed

Just the Porsche’s and the F1 Academy W Series replacement. Unless there’s some local stuff that’s not on the main timetable.

I don’t see any reason why the session couldn’t be extended. I suspect it’s part of the move to give the teams less running “spice things up…”

rules require 2 hours between FP3 and Qualifying, but that would still leave half an hour of room.

Personally, I can't remember any practice extension to have happened ever before, though.

I also don't understand why they didn't stop the times, haven't checked it but there should be sufficient time to at least extend with a quarte of an hour.

Yes, but why? Understandable if there is a tight schedule but if there is time, why can’t they be flexible and stop the time in practice too?
