Never let facts get in the way of a narrative =D>
Curious councilorlrissa why you think it’s not good a straight line? We make a lot of the changes made this year but most of the relative strengths and weaknesses by circuit have followed over and we were particularly good in Monza last year.
I don't know what's the deal with Vanja recently, but the statement about the straight line speed had important context to it.

What I meant was that in order to do well with Monza, certain things are needed.
- Ability to attack kerbs in T1-2 and Roggia;
- Good front-end grip to deal with Lesmos, Ascari and Parabolica;
- Good straight line speed.

Now the SF23 never had good front-end grip, but it had excellent top speed and was good on kerbs. This way it could compensate for the lack of front-end grip.

Now the SF24 has somewhat better front-end than the SF23, but still lacking compared to the competition, and it no longer has the top speed advantage. Which is why I don't think that Monza will be a good track for the SF24.
Yes but let's not forget that we said the same thing about Monaco, that SF-24 has no chance in slow corners etc and Leclerc got in and dominated the weekend. We can't be sure about Monza, we don't know what the team prepares in terms of setup.

How was Dutch GP for Ferrari in the last two years?

In 2022, Leclerc had a gap to Verstappen of 26s in 55 laps before the SC came out. In the remaining 11 full laps after SC period, Leclerc was gapped by further 11s, bringing up the total gap to 37s over 66 laps. Leclerc was 0.56s per lap slower on average and only had a small time loss in the 2-3 laps before overtaking Hamilton after SC. Sainz' race was heavily compromised by pitting early and hitting traffic in lap 15, so his race is not representative.

In 2023, after tricky Q3 session for both drivers, Leclerc was hit by Piastri and had terminal floor damage. Sainz drove a good race and made up 1 place vs starting grid. After 9 laps, the gap to Verstappen was 15s in Intermediate conditions. There was a brief period of running on softs before there was a SC period and running restarted on Lap 21. By lap 59, the gap grew by 28 seconds while running on Softs in two stints, before there was another SC period. In the final 6 laps, the gap grew by further 10s. Overall, total gap was 53s over 53 laps, meaning Sainz was on average slower by 1s a lap than Verstappen.

In 2024, Leclerc had a gap of 2.5s over 72 laps to Verstappen, making it by far the best Dutch GP for Ferrari compared to Red Bull. Leclerc in fact ended the Lap 1 with 3.4s to Max so over the remaining 71 laps Leclerc was fractionally quicker than Verstappen. When we take the gap to race winner Norris into account, it was 25.4s over 72 laps to race winner. Averaging 0.35s per lap, this was 2 tenths a lap better pace compared to race winner than it was in 2022.

As for WCC points, standings after 15 races are as follows:

2004 - 557 (latest points system)

2007 - 417 (latest points system)

2017 – 385

2022 – 376

2023 - 265

2024 – 370

The season is very close to season 2017 (reminder, 2018 started off worse than 2017 so I will only compare total points at the end of that season), basically still equal to 2022 (thanks a million Binotto, Rueda, Xavi and co. #-o ) and only recently became clearly worse than season 2007 - when there were only 2 teams fighting for race wins.

Confirmation by @Gazzetta_it : Loic Serra will be the NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR. Aerodynamic development should remain the responsibility of Diego Tondi. The full picture will be presented by Vasser after Monza, when he will announce the new organization.

Late to the party, but I thought this was an excellent race by Charles and the team. From strategy calls, to pit stops, and was one of the best races I've seen Charles run. He pushed when he needed to and managed perfectly. He knew his race wasn't 1 or 2, but managed to keep the faster McLaren behind.

That McLaren though is a beast in clean air, but surprisingly seems to struggle in dirty air. I've noticed the last few races, whether it's Norris or Piastri, BIG difference if they are within 2 seconds of the car in front, vs having a clear horizon.

Not sure what to expect in Monza. Cautiously optimistic for a podium, but let's see what they bring. If the new floor comes, and clears up some of the bouncing, we could all be in for a nice surprise. Do we know what upgrades are coming?

Still have nightmares about Monza last year with Verstappen laughing in the radio after few laps saying that Sainz was already sliding.

Seems they are doing something promotional together with WEC team, who will be racing in Texas this same weekend (Lone Star Le Mans) as their Hypercar pre-race promo posters display black overalls for drivers. We shouldn't expect anything dramatic for livery, as seen in Miami :mrgreen:

Not exactly the most flattering pics of the drivers lol, the lighting is not appealing at all

Curious to see how much the car changes or if it'll be just a yellow rear wing or something barely noticeable.

Many of us have similar nightmares 😜
But the real one this year will be the Qualifying Position...
If it is P3 we have our chances for a good result...
Let's hope low drag setup will provide good balance

NOR had no problem following and overtaking VER during the first stint, which is where the MCL38 used to struggle with being on full tank.

Watched the onboards for Charles, Pia, Russel and Sainz (laptop limit). It has been stated to death but if we can fix the long radius slow speed without have to compromise else where, the car will take a huge jump on these kinda tracks. Also to note, on the in lap, Sainz went up to congratulate Charles on the podium which was nice.
