Looks bad at the moment but lets wait until fp3 as that's usually when they turn it up a bit. I dont think they'll jump to the top but somewhere in the middle would be reasonable. If it stays like this then it'll be difficult AF to overtake anyone, let alone defend any kind of attack.

Marko said that they need to work on their sector 1 pace, so I guess there will be some adjustments.

Both McLaren went on to do another ~10 laps after their short run, so they were fairly heavy on fuel.

Damn. 349 with engines turned down. Top speed will be crazy if someone catches some slipstream during Q3.

Antonelli didn't seem to realize how much wider F1 cars are. He was going to wide at every corner. Also on the one he crashed in. I noticed right away. Palmer said something about it in the first few corners he did.

What are people seeing here? I don't get it. Red Bull couldn't even take pole here when the car was actually good in 2022 and 2023. Big rear wing setups don't work in qualifying on this track, and they don't have any race pace or tire wear advantage over Mclaren. What's more likely is that Verstappen qualifies somewhere like P3 or P4 and then gets stuck in a DRS train or that it's impossible to overtake as it usually is every year.

Spa had a much shorter drs zone remember than previous years.

Not suggesting that was the sole issue with RBR overtaking

uhhh last i saw their spa setup got them nowhere past P5

6 tenths ahead in Qualifying and then started P11. Starting from Pole would most likely have been a comfortable win.

So doing a "Spa" here, without an engine penalty, could lead to a comfortable win from Pole.

Personally, I would prefer a Charles win at home again. A Ferrari 1-2 for the out going Sainz would be great too.

Not sure how you can tell that, or just wishful thinking? He was one of the very first to set a time, and then crashed. His time didn't hold up very well as the session went on.

Williams rookie, Colapinto, was in the top 5 at one point, and ended near the bottom.
