Leclerc added the 4th engine last race.
Sainz is still on the third PU as of today. My opinion is that he will try to finish the season without penalties.
Isn't on Friday teams use past PUs, not actual ones?ScuderiaLeo wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 19:01Isn't Leclerc on his last engine (and all other components as well)?
Typical of drivers who leave for next year, the team does not give them more engines. The same happened to Alonso in 2022.
Ferrari are in a very close fight for the WCC, I doubt they'd withhold an engine from Sainz if they thought it would help. If McLaren was 100 points ahead, then I could see them doing so.
Maybe you are right.
That's a good argument, I hope they're fair to Sainz. It just seemed to me for a moment that they weren't going to give him any more.ScuderiaLeo wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 19:09Ferrari are in a very close fight for the WCC, I doubt they'd withhold an engine from Sainz if they thought it would help. Maybe even Leclerc will try it if they can use the third engine in some races (maybe Singapore?)
Jock Clear: This package is a response to the Barcelona package. [...] Generally speaking, our development path hasn't changed. But we realized that the bouncing was ruining all the developments we would bring, and so that's what we've been focused on. The difficulty lies in the fact that the wind tunnel only sees the aerodynamics and doesn't detect the bouncing over bumps. However, our models are still improving, and we're hopeful we can find a way to exploit the downforce.
Also, this will be the hottest Monza GP in over 20 years!Leclerc: It's been a pretty positive Friday. The overall feeling is good, and everything we brought to the car seems to be working as planned. Now, it's just about adjusting the balance, because there are still some things left to do. I think Sunday will be very difficult for everybody, due to the new tarmac and the tire degradation, so we'll need to concentrate on tire management then. [...] It still feels like McLaren are very strong, and Mercedes too, but we are much more competitive than in Zandvoort.
Always great report by him! Thanks for sharing.yooogurt wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 20:24Leclerc started using again the technique of not lifting his foot completely in the corners, it's been a long time since we've seen him do it so markedly, especially already in free practice, a sign that the commitment is more than maximum and that the red of FP2 seemed to give him more confidence.
