It'll be interesting to look at how they structure their staff vis-a-vis the cost cap considering all the big names they have on board now. Clearly Newey will be one of the exempt based on his salary. Krack and Fallows are there. There's Andy Cowell replacing Whitmarsh (dont know if he counts). Then there is Luca Furbatto and Eric Blandin. Tom McCullough and Bob Bell are also there. I imagine all these guys were paid well to come to AM. Some sackings possible?
Or some clever financial engineering
Move them to the Catering Department? 😝
If I come across as blunt, I apologise, it's my ASD. Sometimes, like an F1 car aqua-planing, it gets out of my control.

Alonso is like you either die as a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a Newey merchant
Hahaha, good one

Let's not forget he declined Red Bull's offer for 2009 though
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Its amazing that Newey at 65 is going all in on a new project, and you gotta have faith in him. I think he'll be able to pull it off.
Also, its an amazing vote of confidence from Lawrence to make him a shareholder! Will be even more interesting to keep up with the Aston Martin project from now on. =D>

A historic day. Aston Martin, Honda, Fernando Alonso, Adrian Newey. They can conquer Formula 1 in 2026.

From the comments of Stroll you could very much hear that 2025 is just another transition year (success naturally welcome) and all eyes are already on 2026, with the first impact of Newey, the new tunnel, Honda, Aramco, etc.

Aston Martin is really starting to feel like mid 00s Red Bull. Just massive investment left right and center into the right places. Top tier factory, cutting-edge wind tunnel, massive hiring spree.

Unless they start facing Alpine-esque internal politics they are destined to become a regular part of the front running pack. The problem is that that means there will be 10 front running cars out of 20, meaning there will be F1 and F1.5, with nothing in between.

We really need more teams.

Massive pressure for 2026, anything else other than fighting on the front and heads will roll.

In 2026? No way.

Some will have it right, some less and some wrong.

What did Newey say? Very satisfied to continue working with Honda. And how important PU - chassis integration will be.

I wonder if 2025 can be like 2020. Aston Martin also chose to compromise that season to prepare for the future. The compromise was a very effective car.

A very interesting interview with Newey.
