F1 in Schools Axle System

Post

Hi, I'm a student participating in the F1 in schools engineering competition and I have just progressed from development class into professional class. Now that I have reached professional class, I must design my own axle system, which is now one of the most crucial parts of the car. However, I am not really sure about how to go about designing these.

Any information or tips on how to do this will be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards, Archie

As usual for such problems… “we” don’t know the details of that competition.

Is there a ruleset somewhere.?

What are the limits, constraints, sizes, durability… etc?

Time budget? Skill budget? Budget budget?

No limits —> No engineering problem.
Rivals, not enemies. (Now paraphrased from A. Newey).

Yes, there are quite a few limitations to the wheel systems in f1 in schools, attached are links to the F1 in Schools South Australian state finals regulations for 2024, read these assuming that we are competing in professional class. Thankyou for all the help!
