Mclaren has a good shot at pipping pole by being good enough in every sector. in my opinion
Everyone has a good shot I think.CaribouBread wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 11:40Mclaren has a good shot at pipping pole by being good enough in every sector. in my opinion
No one mentioned pole.
People were talking about McLaren getting pole and I just mentioned that it doesn’t really matter. To win championships they need to win the races. Max has more wins from Charles poles than Charles has wins. It’s sad really, but pushing the car hard to a position it cannot keep on the race doesn’t do you any good and especially in a track like Baku, there will be chances in the race if the cars have pace tomorrow.
I think.one person said pole at some point but the conversation before and after was about position.Emag wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 11:58People were talking about McLaren getting pole and I just mentioned that it doesn’t really matter. I didn't mean necessarily a sacrifice tow by one driver but just being 5-10 seconds behind someone on a hot lap.mwillems wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 12:20It often gets talked about but rarely happens as it is hit and miss, but we'll see how we go. First Q3 lap, we might see it. Probably not on the last Q3 lap for Mclaren. They may give it a practise before.
If the margins are tight then a mistake on a track like this can cost a lot.
