his sector 3 was 0.576s slower than in Q2, so although deployment, tire management, slipstream etc plays a part as well, 6 tenths doesn't sound too unreasonable.

Maybe I have the wrong lap, but what mistake in T16?
it's the wrong lap, yeah. It happened during his first Q3 attempt.

And thanks for the aborted lap explanation. Makes sense.
You are right. Here's that lap:

He lost a LOT for sure, he was 0.4s behind LEC's best before that mistake, finished 0.9s so he lost 0.5s (EDIT: The follow on lap Max didn't lose anything on LEC in the straight so I'm assuming equal performance from the 2 and that's why I just did math here.)

I want to commend the TV director for once again being a complete show of incompetence.

With PIA and LEC finishing their last Q3 attempt super tight we were left watching Hamilton's onboard who was +0.8s and then Russell and so on, missing literally any of the top 3 laps.

I don't know how the FIA finds directors but they must be all blind as moles.

Couple I seen on Russells lap. One his out lap, down the hill theres a flashing yellow (which I think is the incident) and then Sainz goes long at the 2nd turn and marshall starts to wave a yellow flag, very late for Russell to react to

single yellow when Sainz took the escape road, so it will come down to him slowing down enough or not

Single yellow = 3 places (Hamilton Austria 2020)
Double yellow = 5 places (Verstappen Qatar 2021)

It's definitely not the one in T2 with SAI as no yellows were shown to RUS. I watched his onboard 10 times and there's no yellow waving, only green panel after the corner, and even then he's going to have a hard time reacting to the car in front going long within 2 seconds of it happening, you wouldn't want the driver over reacting to that anyway.

The document says the infringement occurred at 16:10. So I assume that is 10 minutes into Q1?

The yellow is there for Russell at T2, but Russell would have never reacted to that. Watch it on Multiviewer at 0.1x speed and you can just see the flag being waved.

Be that as it may, if you need to watch it 0.1x to see the flag, stewards would need to be out for blood to penalize that.

Correct, especially when the driver is looking at the corner ahead (looking left)

It is for the incident at turn 16 however.

EDIT: Could actually be turn 2 incident. Would be harsh if it is that incidence. See what the stewards say

There was but it was very late and he wouldn't have been able to react.
