Frustrating day, we had the car to win but botched it.

2 lessons, don't simply wait for the others, if it's obvious that now is the time to pit DO IT.
And Charles needs to do some kind of defensive driving don't underestimate what others can attempt.

Cold hard tyres vs heated up.. Leclerc nearly stopped after second corner.

Super frustrating result. The 6 second lead Charles built on the mediums evaporated in one(!) lap; the hards also didn't suit the car as well as the mediums. Still P2 but feels like the win was there today.

Leclerc had a very slow lap just before the inlap (49.990). Something went wrong there.

I think strategy was resonable. LEC just dropped hard on inlap. PIS would overtake him anyway laps later, beacuse he was inside DRS.

The approach was too conservative. Track position is king.

They were too focused on tyres and they forgot that overtaking is difficult even in this track. Leclerc as well too relaxed with Piastri behind thinking too much ahead.

We had 6 --- seconds ---

Charles was too conservative out of the box and didn't even try to block Piastri, underestimated that he could attempt a dive bomb.

Also no need to wait for Piastri to pit, it was obvious he needed to pit then and there... had he stayed on he would lose position to Perez and put himself in a hole.

Honestly Oscar came from way back I never expected an overtake there. Kind of like Miami.

At least the car was plenty fast and this was down to a strategic misstep rather than outright pace. Charles kept up for half the race so the pace was comparable. Not even going to think about the Sainz thing there. I guess that'll teach people who count their chickens before the eggs hatch.
