In my opinion, AM is the 7th team. Maybe even the 8th. I don't think they're the 5th at all.

Yeah but we have Alonso that push that car to her limit. An upgrade should arrive at Austin. One month I hope fallows brings a good upgrade to fight for the 5th

Alonso was lucky that Perez didn't eliminate him in Q1 (same car as max put in second). But he is also driving incredibly well.
And don't forget that Lance crashed so badly in qualy last year that he missed the race here, so he probably doesn't have the best confidence at this track now.

I'm sure you mean in Q2 (not the same, obviously).

Also, you can only be lucky if you're there for it. He also gained Leclerc's position after his lap was eliminated... But given it was just about a tenth difference, I don't see that as good luck either, but the result of an awesome work by Fernando.

Alonso goes even further. He said in the post qualy interview that only Sauber is slower than AM.
