So that was why Dr Obbs retracted his tweet about the move? Seemed to suggest that there was also bad news for someone.

You're welcome, you guys enjoy Courtenay. You can thank Mr. Horner for not keeping his snake in the cage, which initiated the toxic work environment.

People said get Hannah Schmitz, so they thought nah, let's get her boss.

I'm my opinion, that was a bit unnecessary by Zak, to go after Red Bull like that. It would be better to just focus on the team, no need for this Netflix stuff.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I honestly don’t know too much about him, by the sounds of it though you hold him high esteem?

Gardening leave till mid 2026? That is crazy.

On the positive side, this probably immediately slightly weakens Red Bull strategy department.

Great to see the team being proactive. Strategy wasn't perfect this year. Good to see they are working on it.

Maybe the Zak "peace" tweet with horner was about releasing him early

I've missed something here. All I know is that Obbs said they'd be a move in the paddock announced today. Then he retracted it saying he was deleting the tweet out of respect for those involved, or something like that.

But it makes sense why Zak and Horner were Pyjama Bros, most likely they were finishing negotiations for his release.

I was looking at the results and just realized that with better luck/less mistakes, McLaren would have won 7 of last 8 races. Austria, Great Britain and Italy were all winnable.

Austria
Great Britain
Hungary
Belgium - Mercedes faster
Netherlands
Italy
Azerbaijan
Singapore.

The one that “hurts” the most is Silverstone. Home race and they --- it up to those gigantic proportions for both drivers. Could have had a double podium at least with a different execution.

Not too bothered with the rest. At Austria they got a bit lucky to get in the fight to begin with and as for Monza, Leclerc deserved it.

Yeah. Silverstone was really bad. I'm not too bothered with it all, I was just surprised that the car had realistic shot of winning 7 of last 8 races.

And it won 3 of last 4.

My perception is that this team started 2024 campaign psychologically on a "glide slope" of challenging in championship terms for 2025 .... as such finding themselves reaching early this current position of competency and relative competitiveness in slightly surprised demeanour :D

Definitely welcome but a little unprepared in early season to make some critical decisions based on overall car pace that we now see. Naturally, a very positive surprise, but now to ramp up their outlook and race focus to where they've worked themselves to with the technical performance obvious.

You can both hear and see the shift in outlook from team and drivers as it becomes more factual with each result chalked onto the board.

I'm looking forward to the latter part of season as this head to head rolls out for us, but feel that other teams will also play a part in taking significant points from both McL & RB in finish positions.

It's looking tight for either side currently, must feel good being in the garages at races currently with this much to play for.
