McLaren MCL38

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Tunnel entrance seems the same, but the floor edge is tough to judge from this angle.

Either way, the interesting shot would be in the rear view looking down into the diffuser.

All pitlane photos I saw seem to be of Norris' car with Pato's number. Cooling vents are new, the floor is 100% exact same as Austin and earlier. It doesn't make sense to have Pato accidentally damage it with an off or a crash

So they're giving Norris 2 practice sessions with new spec to get it dialled? Risky

I don't know. It all looks the same to me too, but that is Lando's car right? He has the yellow T-Cam. If they had only one, then I am assuming they're putting it in Lando's car. Don't know when Fabrega took this picture though, maybe they swap it out for FP1, but it doesn't make too much sense why they wouldn't have it in the car already.

EDIT : Nevermind, apparently Pato is supposed to be driving in FP1, they probably won't have it on the car until FP2 then.

Why not install a new floor for Oscar during the first training session? #-o

If Oscar won't have it, you're just wasting an FP session for both drivers then because if the floor is indeed a big change, it will have a different feel in the car when they swap it out for FP2. Also, they are testing new tires for Pirelli so it's a bit of a wasted session anyway. No need to introduce more variables.

That makes sense. It's not worth the risk.
