I agree shouldn’t need them at all. However better to get through and then use a used set of softs for first run in Q2 rather than go out…

Yes. They'd already done an out lap, fast lap and cool down lap. Plus I wonder if he was able to fully recharge his battery given it's a short lap.

Maybe that run on Mediums was a mistake, for Oscar at least. He was not up to speed to make such an "arrogance".

There were 4 minutes when he finished his invalid lap… it should have been enough for a pit and a more proper lap. At least “more proper” lap than he has done on used softs.

I've said it before, but the over praise for Oscar was just that, and probably the over reaction to some poor form will also be OTT. But he has been inconsistent, but I was disappointed in Austin and this is also disappointing.
