We are going into the Brazilian GP, probably another painful GP week-end... but we stay positive.

How astonishing was the Brazilin 2022 GP ? Alonso was absolutely flying and he finished P5. Shame that car had a PU deficit.

Antonio Lobato confirmed on a video what we already expected. Lobato said after Mexico test AM confirmed the Austin's package doesnt work fine and some parts from old kit works more well than new pieces. He said they still totally lostand they dont know why and correlaction with Wind tunnel isnt great. He did not rule out that between now and end of season some layoffs happen.
I don't think anyone is gonna get Canned or moved to another positioned, but I wouldn't be surprised either.

I just think on Newey's Day 1 he gonna sit with Fallows and ask him "what are the correlation issues?" Hopefully, he can point him in the right direction.

I'm worried about Alonso's health. Some sort of intenstinal infection he's been dealing with for a month now.

He Finished 3ird last year and AMR qualified 3ird and 4th.
Difference between Mexico
QCDST=Quick Change of Direction Series of Turns
             Turns<100 100<turns<200 turns>200 QCDST
Texas 6 1 1 1
Mexico 5 5 0 1
Brazil 2 3 1 0
When you look at that it becomes obvious that they have Mechanical grip problem. They also have problems with the QCDSTs. Mexico has fewer of both of those, so it can't be worse.

I see

“Fernando will miss his media day activities in Brazil. Fernando had suffered with an intestinal infection in the lead up to the Mexico City Grand Prix,” Aston Martin said in a statement.

“He returned to Europe to receive further treatment from a specialist. The extra day of treatment has delayed his travel plans to Brazil but ensures he will be ready for this weekend's racing.”

With hindsight, Mexico retirement was a fortunate break for him.

Aston Martin
In Austin, the fifth underbody of the year was conjured up from the hat. The stations until then: start of the season, Suzuka, Imola, Budapest and Austin. Because nothing worked in Austin and the Aston Martin was only really fast in two corners, but sometimes lost dramatically in the others, a big comparison test was held in Mexico. There were three sub-floors to choose from: Suzuka, Budapest and Austin. The winner was Suzuka, the oldest model. The drivers immediately recognized progress and would have landed in Q3 without the red flag. Grade: 2

Aston Martin went away empty-handed for the second time in a row, but Mexico was an important step forward for the team. A big underbody comparison test ended with the Suzuka soil being the best. All other parts of the car were Austin. The drivers immediately felt a calmer driving behavior. The red flag in Q2 cost Alonso and Stroll the Q3.

Its so strange how AM can build the fast cars but dont make upgrades or even worse, make the car worse, because, even AMR24 being the nitht car today, that car was faster early in the season and is so much faster than AMR23. Its so strange how bad their upgrades are. I think they search for this answer too. I remeber when Allison said, the turn point to Mercedes was an absurde simples thing, after that point, Mercedes started do better things.

Agreed. I saw those with my own eyes. Just goes to show how much misinformation you get, even from a reputable source.

When will be the new wind tunnel operational.
It would be beneficial if AMR use the new wind tunnel for their 2025 car.
Until then, they can use the AMR 24 similar what MCL did last year.

When is the team reverting to a in-house manufactured rear axle, next year or the year after? Is McLaren the only Mercedes customer team with their own rear axle?
Watching F1 since 2004.
