Let's hope only the ICE is enough and other components are fine. A blown TC and bye bye to the title.

It would be interesting to know which components of PU nr 3 (Canada) were undamaged

These must have been (apart from the ICE) all the other components otherwise they would never have been able to keep up
the next 4 race weekends, which also included 2 sprint races.

I hope so, the initial report was that the problem was on the ERS/electrical side.

"it is on the electric part of the engine"

Well, this man is a steward AGAIN this weekend:
.
Johnny Herbert: 'Penalty we gave Verstappen won't stop him pushing Norris off track again'

October 30th 2024
Max Verstappen clashed with Lando Norris in Mexico because he wanted a Ferrari 1-2 finish at the expense of his title rival, says Johnny Herbert, who was one of the stewards who handed 20sec of penalties to the Red Bull driver, who he believes is prepared to push Norris off the track again

Verstappen and Norris are set to clash again in Sao Paulo

Max Verstappen was in a “horrible mindset” and fully deserved the 20 seconds of penalties he received in the Mexico City Grand Prix after his “over-the-top” driving, says Johnny Herbert, who was one of the stewards judging the incident last weekend.

But the former British Grand Prix winner believes that the sanction will have no effect on Verstappen’s driving style, and that the reigning world champion will attack and defend just as aggressively at this weekend’s race in Sao Paulo; at a circuit that’s no stranger to track limit and overtaking wrangles.

“Those penalties in Mexico won’t stop Max Verstappen from pushing Lando Norris off the track in the future,” Herbert told sports betting firm Action Network. “I don’t see Verstappen’s driving changing because the number one goal is to stop Norris from closing the gap for the drivers’ championship. We potentially still have a lot of interesting racing coming our way.”

“The whole intention of Verstappen [in Mexico] was to try to let Ferrari get the one-two finish,” said Herbert. “I think that’s definitely what Verstappen intended and tried to achieve, I understand why he did it but I don’t agree with it, I don’t think many people do.

BTW, did he gave Leclerc a penalty too for saying the F word during the Press Conference?
You mean the guy who never drove for McLaren but did win races for Red Bull Racing in its former guise as Stewart Racing?

That guy?
If I come across as blunt, I apologise, it's my ASD. Sometimes, like an F1 car aqua-planing, it gets out of my control.

Truly repulsive and biased language from Herbert. He's basically saying they'll hand out a penalty to Max whatever happens, which is exactly what I pointed out to with their bs T8 penalty decision.

"Max Verstappen was in a “horrible mindset” ... " What the hell does a steward have to do with assessing any driver's state of mind and making a non-educated analysis of it?!?
19 out of the current 20 drivers want a change to the rules to clamp down on what Max has been doing.

Pretty much every single former driver in the grid not employed by Red Bull think Max overstepped the line.

But sure, nobodies on the Internet know better 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Don't be naive mate, nobody cares about those rules other than McLaren and Mercedes drivers right now. Though I seriously doubt even Piastri trully cares, he's a true racer who asks for no room and gives no room.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Call me a skeptic on Russells claims but

Charles and Sainz are the 2 benefiting the most out of all that is going on.

Perez, I would be skeptical he would be against if even if just to keep Max onside.

Lawson has shown he is a very agressive driver too that has upset a few, gunning for a RBR seat. I question if he would go against Max. Perhaps even Yuki too.

Alsonso has been supportive of Max for years. Don't know he would blindly follow

George was sulking about his penalty in Austin even before Max's incident and was probably more a clear breach and a very different incident to Max's

Do I think perhaps a majority are? Probably but 19/20 I feel is George being rather loose with the truth,. and knowing who everyone assumes the 1 would be.

I've seen too other non British drivers question the consistency of penalties

As for 'internet nobodies' having an opinions. I've followed other sports where I think there have been so called amatures that have had better opinions doing through data than so called full time pros that. - I think they are rare but they are around in cases where I know them and am used to there analyst I'd back them in most situations It doesn't either side is always right but don't dismiss just because so called 'pros' argue otherwise.

I was fine with Max's penalties but, I don't think either of them - particularly the T4 incident was anywhere year as bad as the media and Max's critics make out. I think Lando did what Max would have done taken more speed that he should have through T4 known his opponent would push him wide. And bail on T5 and claim he was avoiding contact and go as far to say Max plans it as much as I think Lando did here. I liked it from Lando tbh because it showed he was willing to play Max's own games against him. Something he has been unwilling to really do until now.

Do you think the true racer Piastri could have pulled that overtake against Max in Monza, the one he did against Norris?
When he gets into that situation, he would know the value of rules.

The way Norris allowed others to toss him around speaks of him really, not of anyone else

So allowing racing space for the car alongside is now a problem?

One should get used to this on Internet forums. It's usual to make an opinion of what one posts. This is no legal contract writing to not do that.
