McLaren MCL38

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Reminds me of the mainplane on this wing, just with that dipped front edge and a reconfigured upper flap.

More and more convinced this is new, at least for McLaren, cause I saw also something similar at Ferrari from Vanja.
But to use/try it only in 25 I don't see making sense, due to Brasil race format with only one FP. If you mess the setup going to Sprint Quali will be difficult to come back to proper runs for Main Race.

I’m certainly sure it’s new.
Stella also said that there would be another upgrade in Brazil, considering there was a new front wing for Austin, floor in Mexico you’d imagine the rear wing would be the only thing left to update so late in the season
Just a fan's point of view

New rear wing confirmed in the documents.

Two variants of beam wing to complement it (higher and lower downforce).

It is said that the new RW design is to maximize the DRS effect. And for the moment the goal looks achieved. McLaren has same DRS impact like Red Bull, +42km/h.

@RosarioGiuliana
Finally I maked a clearer comparison of the new #McLaren floor. Small changes to the edge wing, while the diffuser ramp has been modified. There are also changes under floor zone.

Hadn't noticed those mini-fins hidden behind the second big fin on the front part of the edge wing before. Really pretty, organic design. Comparing this to Merc's edge wing, it's apparent how inelegant and brute-force their design philosophy seems to be.
