Avoided this forum this week knowing it would be a sh1tshow with everyone having very strong opinions after Mexico. Now however, its time for a new weekend. So here I am wondering if Red Bull will salvage anything at all, or if indeed the WDC too is going down the drain. Wouldn't be surpriced.

The interesting thing is that aside from Red Bull losing focus in all areas, development, strategy, drivers, pit stops etc, also Honda have seemed less bullet proof this year. Guess it was always only going to go one way after their near perfect run in recent years.

Verstappen's onboards don't look good.

5 places.

Max is doing a good stint (negative deg) but difficult to compare with what McLaren and Ferrari are doing. I think Ferrari are simulating the sprint.

F1TV commentary read from the FIA bulletin that it is a 10 place. Maybe Sam Collins was wrong

nvm they have corrected it now to 5 places

why did Max back off on the straight ? anyway this weekend Ferrari don't seem able to steal points from Lando...it'll be bad.

Marko said he backed off to save the tires for later on.

About the pace, he didn't sound too confident, with issues both in slow and/or fast corners. To him, Ferrari looked much faster during the long run, assuming that they were on a similar fuel load.

Ferrari's pace advantage is nothing unusual. It was seen in the last 4-5 GP.

No need to push the car and engine when there is a penalty for him. He needs to optimise his race setup...mclaren look very strong and I don't think ferrari are going to steal points from them. Max as always needs to be peerless in race trim. Brazil throws up a very odd weekend every now and then...SC'S, rain...could land him a win.

I didn't really have the impression that anyone looked really good, tbh.

Verstappen's long run was a bit of an odd one as well, with him suddenly speeding up by 1s ten+ laps into it.

Body language of Max's car looked good through 6-7-8-9.
Wasn't able to spot proper footage showing the journey through 10-11-12 (where all the laptime is sitting)

also Perez was quick from the start (although not anymore in the end), which is usually a good sign.

I'd be surprised if Verstappen doesn't end up fighting for the "pole" today, which at least would put him in a good position to defend his points lead in the sprint.
