Even if they threw red straight away Max will have still been out I believe.

This is going to be such an amazing race if it actually ends up happening.

Who dares to hope there will even be a race though?

Max was not good on his first inter lap (one that NOR was P3 with), then on his second lap he was already 2 seconds down in S1. It just doesn't seem the Red Bull works on inters. Perez had the same behaviour.

Did they hold off that red flag just long enough for Max to drop out of the top 10? Or was he already out?

This race direction is total clown show, this is unacceptable interference. A car is standing wrecked beside the track for a minute and they wait so long to put up a red flag that ends the session
they dont even hide it anymore

Huge error from Red Bull
What error? Verstappen got screwed by ocon on his first fast lap, then there was a red flag and that was it.

I think there will be cars on track- for how long- no idea.
We’ll see red flags and the safety cars for sure
Just a fan's point of view

They let the cars finish there laps until they came around again to turn 4
While I wholeheartedly agree with this principle of allowing cars already beyond the crash site to finish the lap, it has never been done before.

I remember quite recently Hulkenberg got a lap deleted that was completed just 1 or 2 seconds after a red flag was thrown, so he was already on the S/F straight when the button was pushed.

After the very helpful VSC timing yesterday, it's looking mighty suspect that we are seeing FIA manipulation again in the championship for The Show (tm) 😕

Bayer just said that they had no GPS in Q2 and had to rely on tv pictures, so it's possible that FIA had problems as well, leading to the delay.

10 years ago a wonderful young man had a crash that cost him his life because race direction didn't put up a red flag for a crashed car on a wet track. It's a safety issue and all of these crashes should have been red flagged immediately
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Max was P11 when LEC set his lap, 1:34 to the end. Yellow flag came up at that moment.

Max started his lap but saw Aston Martin in the wall and backed off in S1. This probably was why his inter lap (that he was able to finish) did not improve his time.

Just rewatched it. Yellow flag came out with 1:37 minutes to go. LeClerc ended his lap at 1:35 minutes to go, which got him in top 10 and pushed Verstappen out of the top 10, to 11.

That's a window of 2 seconds.
