Sainz will start in the pit lane with a new gearbox and PU.

I'm concerned Leclerc will struggle in Vegas without a new PU because of so many other drivers taking them, but let's hope Sainz can make up good positions here.

SAI probably isn't going to be starting the race at all if Albon is anything to go by. None of the teams got their crashed cars back until after quali.

Ferrari are very much still in it even with Sainz and Leclerc starting quite far back. I'm afraid to make any predictions about this race with how insane it's likely ot be given the rain.

I don't think we are, Max will still win it.

I think Ferrari (Leclerc) is still in with a good chance of scoring very well today, even of wining.
In these conditions anything can happen!

Lando P1 Max P17, Lando could have very easily been starting P17 himself with his Q1 performance!

Leclerc interview after qualifying. Very frustrating but oh well.

I think it was the first qualifying in my life where there was never a lap without a yellow flag, a red flag. It was a disaster. I had cold tyres because we waited so long in the pits, but we knew that. Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. I'm not worried because the pace was there, in three corners we were strong. In the end, it's not my fault or the team's fault, it's just events that sometimes go against us.

In happier news, Tobi Grüner reports Sainz's car will be ready for the race.

Indeed, after the first lap in Q2 he never had a clean break. Sainz crashed just as he was about to start his first lap on Inters, Stroll crashed on his second full lap on inters, Alonso crashed after his first/prep lap on inters in Q3 and finally Piastri messes up Leclerc's final Q3 lap with his off and re-entry

Lesson to be learned - by the first one in line to at least get a clean track and first time on the board
