How much penalty for Norris, Russel ? Shame Sainz couldn’t just finish the race. Would have gotten some points. None the less, great damage limitation by Leclerc.
Nah it was stinker from Carlos. Italians dogged the bullet. WCC is totally in play.
"And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver..." Ayrton Senna
Pit wall, pit stop and Charles all culpable. Charles wanted to pit to get into clean air to use the car pace. Bryan wanted him to stay out to the heavy rain similar to Ocon and Ver. Pit wall either miscalculated the time or the pit stop was slow as they def didn't want to dump him out behind Bearman and Hamilton.
That one's on Leclerc then, should have listened to Bozzi but after Silverstone I guess he wanted to be his own master. Not too much harm in any case, he needs to make up positions on his own
Yes, tend to agree. The communication was much better compared to Silverstone.
Shame about the result, could have been better but at least Charles gained points on Norris. Seems like the car would have been strong if the track had dried. Charles said he had a huge limitation on the rear axel in the high speed. Horrible was used twice...
This race should have seen something like 35-44p for McLaren and Ferrari (with Sainz starting in the rear) realistically 6-8p at most. The fact McLaren won only 2p more is encouragning for WCC, but ultimately it's McLaren's to lose and it has been for many races now. 557p is out of this world for a season with such a slump for 4 races and having McLaren profit so much with illegal rear wing in no less than 3 races
Car struggles to heat up Inters definitely, or they missed the setup again. It felt like Wets worked better in Q1, especially compared to McLaren. Seeing how Monza went and how McLaren won't be able to use illegal mini drs for massive gains in Vegas, I think Ferrari should be able to capitalise with its Monza package again. As Vasseur said, they should focus on individual races and not WCC, especially in these 3 races. McLaren has 36p advantage to defend and even with the best Ferrari in all 3 races and Qatar sprint, they shouldn't have any problems dedending their advantage.
Ferrari didn't have the car for WCC for the biggest part of the year, while McLaren still has issues on the wall and both drivers tend to fold in high-pressure situations. Norris just folds and Piastri simply has no pace too often, but it is only his 2nd season in F1 and there is still lots of room to improve. Red Bull runs with basically just 1 driver, so the WCC is really about who will have lost less during the whole season. Again, if McLaren drops it at this point, it will be of their own doing
Leclerc also surpassed his 2022 points tally with one race less, though there were 2 more Sprints so far. Still, tells a lot how much better the team is, for him to score so many points without having the best car for half a season (even with all the bs and lost races Binotto's wall and PU put him through)

Carlo is summoned to stewards for dangerous driving, could it be a grid penalty for Vegas?
Many dudes went out and came back dangerously onto the track, let's see what will come out of this.
Mr Norris did it twice, but it wasn't noted on screen.
