Verstappen drives well, when he's not pulling utterly filthy moves.

I saw some utterly filthy moves up the inside of T1 today. Better luck next year.

I’m no fan of Verstappen but 2022 onwards the stuff he says without his crash helmet on I tend to agree with.

Looking back again, cant believe what happened. Max started P17 blasted through the field and then won by 20 seconds. We were finally a little bit lucky with the red flag and we could change the tyres. No words, I will sleep well now for 3 weeks. Now just bring it home please. Couldnt wish for a better birthday gift. Thank you.

Max in the rain is on the same level as Senna, Schumacher were. Also I am thinking if the race was dry, it would have been an easy 1-2 for Mclaren, with Verstappen probably around fourth place.
yeah I thought we were fuc*ed with that SC and Max not pitting but finally a bit of luck with the Red flag, and of course that majestic drive by Max. I think I've lost one year life today :D

An all time race win to seal one of the most deserved title in F1 history.

Watching the race (without even a pee break as I couldn't take my eyes off), I wasn't actually listening to the commentary, even though I was hearing it.

Murray Walker's comment on Senna :
".... and Senna is a wet weather master"

kept ringing in my mind in his very own distinctive voice, in a loop.

If the first stint was a masterclass on how to position the car and overtake without DRS, just from late braking ; the second stint was an emphatic statement to the other drivers and to the British passport F1 coterie - 17 fastest laps back to back, sandwiched by battery recharge laps.

A true addition to the pantheon of 'raw talent' greats like Senna and Schumacher ; because I consider wet weather skill (loose gravel if rallying) to be the hardest skill of all, in F1.

McLaren could have still had an easy 1-2 if it was probably Max and some other driver in that car, with a 20s gap lol.

The race was moved forward wasn't it? No rush to the airport. I guess they just didn't want to face the music.
I reckon they just ran out of questions.

Max is the one that made the call to stay out on the inters before the red flag.

Radio transcribed by me:

(Lap 28)
GP: Max, tires?

Max: Does it keep raining or not? Now it's still extreme.

GP: We have this rain only for another 4 minutes Max.

Max: ok, f***. After that it's dry or no rain? If it's only 4 minutes I'll stay out. You need to advise me with the radar I don't know.

GP: Yeah yeah don't worry Max, just chatting here. I'll let you know. Still happy with flap?

Max: Yeah

GP: VSC ending Max, VSC ending

*after Juncao, before pit entry*

Max: f*** it's a lot of water but...let's try a lap

GP: Stay out, recharge off. Just be very careful please Max, very careful.

I remember they used to talk about Vettel wanting all the records. Little did we know his successor would be the actual man who took them

When Max was driving his fastest laps, lap after lap with each lap about 1,5 tenth down you could see he was driving like a clockwork. And even in these conditions! Absolute masterclass. That Hinchcliff after the race was absolutely extatic about Max' drive, and rightfully so. It also meant that the car was well balanced. VER said that he was confident under braking so that helped him doing the passes in T1 without DRS. I wonder whether they have found something setup wise.
