ING Pulling out of Renault sponsorship?

Post

Reports are coming through stating ING are withdrawing from their contract with Renault with immediate affect. They were going to at the end of season anyway, but crashgate has accelerated things. Oh dear...how long will Renault last? :?:

I thought it was Mutua Madrilena, not ING.

Reports? As in actual, fact-based, or otherwise legitimate information? Or just some jibber jabber?

Renault loses title sponsor

Title sponsor ING axes Renault backing
f1-live.com wrote: Mere hours after Spanish insurance backer Mutua Madrilena pulled its logos from the R29 for the same reason, the Dutch bank ING said it has also decided to end its association with Renault because of the Crashgate scandal.
Difficult position for Renault team.

Mutta have pulld with immediate effect, but still sponsor Fernando as a personal sponsor.

However ING are pulling out of Renault at the end of the season, but that was decided back in March/April of the year as ING have "succeccfully penetrated the market place using Formula 1 sponsorship" if i remember the press realease.

Meaning that ING will be pulling out of Formula 1 team sponsorship, but could sponsor one or two raceas each year.

Personally, i think ING are gonna pull out of Renault and go to another team, probably one of the smaller teams, but not as a title sponsor, maybes as what Santander is to McLaren at the moment.

I find it funny that a financial organization like ING finds it's image tarnished, not after the financial crisis we have going on (it's not over yet), but rather after crashgate. The truly corrupt truly hate one thing .. allowing yourself to get caught in the act!

Will be interesting to see if Renault begin to reconsider their involvement in F1. Remember orginally back in 2006 doubt about Renault's future was part of the reason Alonso left for McLaren.

I can see it now, new Clios with 'crash for insurance claim' button on steering wheel!

Johnathan Noble just said on his Twitter feed that he had spoken to a... err... spokesperson who said that ING had parted company from the team with immediate effect. Track signage for this weeknds Singapore G.P. will remain though.

Now this just popped into my Twitter feed.

It is an excuse for companies to get out of sponsor deals and save money.

I think it says an awful lot about the moral standards within those companies that they use a flimsy excuse to renege on a previously agreed deal.

I for one, will not be doing any business with either ING or Mutua Madrilena in the future as a direct result of their actions.

Mutua Madrilena are a car insurance company.

They have every right to stop their sponsorship of Renault!

Besides that, Renault are the ones who breached the contract, its not like ING just decided to pull out on their own terms whenever they wanted. Renault breached the terms and so the contract was no longer valid...

Rats from a sinking ship it seems!

This begs the question, will someone else take the top sponsor spot? If so, who?

Either way what will their livery be? Will the orange stick or will they be allowed to change it?
