Site unusable with full screen popups

Post

Why are there popups taking over the whole screen, repeatedly re-appearing when you close them very 20 or 30 seconds?

You can't read or post without this crap popping up, it will hurt your organic rankings and I for one won't use a site that is so annoying...

Yup, i have had this load of times today. It makes the site very hard to use.
I dont mind it it happens once, but it happens repeatedly even without page loads.

I run a few ad-blockers on my browsers and a gadget called a Pi-Hole, which is connected to the router and it intercepts pretty much every advert, etc, and removes them from the downloaded pages.
So I get virtually no ads or popups on anything.

This site is now also redirecting me to some other external site which has a title of Null (1x1) and a tiny white pixel in the centre.

But since when did this site do redirects, and worse, those that go to a very dodgy looking page.

Well, this thing is actually quite complicated to control.
One would think that ad agency keeps this under control and I guess they have their quirks too.

The ads showing up are also region dependent, making it very difficult to test the matter myself.
On desktop I've never seen any issue really. No adblockers or shields active.

So the problem is only on mobile?
Still there? Any difference in last few days?

Sadly, yes on mobile.
Activated the adblocker as it was to much.
I’m fine with unobtrusive ads as way to support the site.

I use the site on mobile. The ads do block a good chunk of the screen, but you can close the ad rather than it being constantly occupying part of the screen. Unfortunately you have to every link you visit.

I frequently get ads taking up at least half the screen, AliExpress is a particularly common one (I spend too much on there 😂) but there are others.

I pretty much exclusively view the site on my phone and, frankly, it is really very off putting.

I understand that you need revenue and ads are the way you do this, but have you considered offering a subscription based ad-free version?
If I come across as blunt, I apologise, it's my ASD. Sometimes, like an F1 car aqua-planing, it gets out of my control.
