Wittich is sacked…what’s brewing?
Guess he was the last one to be informed….
but Wittich informed the press he didn’t quit!
So someone on top is pulling the reigns for absolute control…

As our colleagues at Motorsport-Magazin.com found out, Wittich did not leave voluntarily, but was harshly dismissed. The 52-year-old Hessian was reportedly on his way to an FIA meeting in Geneva when he was informed that he was out of a job.
The most likely reason for Wittich's dismissal is disagreements with the drivers in the drivers' briefings. The tall FIA official was very meticulous when it came to issues such as jewelry and fireproof underwear, for example, and did not allow any discussions. His predecessors were much more sociable here. Behind closed doors, some drivers accused Wittich of behaving like a teacher. They felt they were being treated like little children.
It was precisely this behavior that was recently criticized by the drivers' union (GPDA) in an open letter. However, the accusations were directed less at the race director and more directly at FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem. It is quite possible that the boss of the world governing body has now found an easy pawn in Wittich to appease the drivers and take himself out of the firing line.
So, we have to endure this s*** show for quite a long time.cplchanb wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 18:58https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-c ... /10672816/
for better or for worse the monaco GP is back for another 6 years
With zero experience, hard to imagine.
Yeah I read there is an interim and next year we will see an actual replacement or a multi-person arrangement.
