Quite high starting pressure for tires, looks like they are concerned about failure.

Considering the high speeds and a couple of massive braking zones, plus only 'street level' amount of grip (poor grain), if they keep the 20-22 psi of traditional tracks, I reckon the swing between min and max temps will be massive. So yes, most likely this is to prevent stress punctures.
Given these high pressures and low grip => large slip, the rear will dance due to the low DF package. On top of this, the close walls almost ensure yellow/red flags. Will be surprised if the race has no VSC/SC. Ferrari/Mclaren are going to be 'leagues ahead' of Redbull/Mercedes, due to the straighline efficiency and low speed turn-in & traction advantages. With someone like LeClerc at the wheel, my bets are on a dogfight between #16 and #4

A lot of changes vs 2023 preview

Image

Asphalt grip 3->1
Abrasion 3->2
Tyre stress 3->4
Min pressures up, but I think same as post-FP2 last year
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Raised pressure and lighter load (front use prediction in colours) usually will bring risk of graining, tread temp high carcass flex low, to overheat tread and roll it across surface but still not detach.

VCARB running the classic 2001 Sauber livery. Such an amazing classic.

Very surprised to see the big wing on McLaren, they are usually always the first to go for smaller wing than anyone else

Absolutely massive difference in wing between Red Bull and Ferrari. Very curious to see if they stick with this or if some teams will experiment with different wings.

Photos from motorsport. Ferrari also brings Spa wing and McLaren has a front wing they paired with Monza wing previously. There will probably be a lot of comparison runs for most teams...
