Andretti is in a curious situation, Indycar has two OEM suppliers, Honda and Chevrolet(GM), Andretti uses Honda.
But in F1 Andretti will partner up with Cadillac... who is also a GM brand.

I believe they are using the base and the people Andretti hired for this project, right now it's difficult to tell what the split in ownership will be.
With that said Michael isn't even CEO of Andretti Global anymore.

As far as I can make out Andretti has been pushed aside and his business partner has taken over Andretti Global. His only link with Andretti Global is in an ambassdorial role.

I'd guess GM will either buy a share in Andretti Global or buy it out entirely. Then they'll have to decide on which
brand they are going to use. It's an opportunity for GM to crack new markets via F1. I guess it'll be Cadillac as that's probably the most well known brand GM own.

Seems like the PU deal will either be with Honda or Ferrari, doubt Mercedes would want GM anywhere near a Mercedes Power Unit. Audi and RB are excluded from having to supply other teams as they are new manufacturers.

Just a question of will GM start from scratch with it's Power Unit or buy Renault's defunct F1 engine operation.

The RB PU is going to be named Ford, GM wouldn't allow a Ford powered car.

The F1 media complex is so quick to suggest Valeri Bottas as a driver for Cadillac. Why ? That is such a bland choice and not what the team would need from a driving or marketing standpoint

Maybe structured like Red Bull Racing (GM) owning the F1 entry while Red Bull Technologies (Andretti Global) builds and runs the cars

A pragmatic choice. He’s a safe pair of hands. Vast experience, insider during Mercedes most successful years. Doesn’t run up huge repair bills. Mercedes seem keen to have him back on board as a test/development driver, now Hamilton is leaving, that says a lot.

Leftfield but I’d still like to see Colton Herta in the second car. Assuming he qualifys for a SL next year, he only needs a couple of points as he was second in Indycar in 2024.

The announcement also confirms TWG (The Walter Group) Global’s position as the parent company that owns and operates Andretti Global, in addition to the Cadillac F1 program.
TWG group has Mark Walters (CEO and founder Guggenheim Partners and shareholder in Group 1001) and Dan Towriss (founder and CEO of Group 1001) as main shareholders

TWG owns the Andretti Racing LTD Silverstone UK base with 48,000 sft and 250 staff currently since 2022 and the Fishers USA Andretti Global HQ which is 400,000 sft (which will house the Indy and IMSA teams). Wonder how the US base will be used.
It would be great if all the race car manufacturing, building of cars and race team are based in the US and the design continues at UK office. With less than half races happening in Europe (could reduce further in 2026), it should not be a negative basing the race team in USA as it used to be.
