How could Fernando lose 2 positions on the S/F straight at the restart?
Edit: 4 places over just one lap.
He can blame whoever he wants but he f*cked up. On the first lap, on the last curve, he gave it too much beans and got wheel spin. Then he was a sitting duck. His top speed was slow cause of the wheel spin, then having to come off the throttle to regain control of the car. He then further compounded the issue by trying to make up for his mistake, carrying too much speed into turn 12 and going wide. Which then resulted in taking another lap to clean up his tires. He was perfect after that though.
7 of those laps were with the yellow flag into turn 1, so Russell wasn't allowed to pass.
I don't know what you smoking, but Alonso had mega luck with a lot of retired cars and accident. He couldn't finish in top 10 and the Aston just was slightly faster than Sauber and much slower than Gasly . Can't even keep up with DRS which for me a big disappointment, because where they should be fast if not in the straights?
Incredible luck, watch at golf, incredible overtaking on the alphatauri and incredible race pace with the car at the limit. Alonso had a sensational race, those who criticize him better change sportOnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:34I don't know what you smoking, but Alonso had mega luck with a lot of retired cars and accident. Awesome race by Alonso, and for once the team was good on strategy by doing a lap or so on the soft and pitting again to mediums, to avoid the hards.Sherrinford wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:39Incredible luck, watch at golf, incredible overtaking on the alphatauri and incredible race pace with the car at the limit. At the start, it looked like he'd made a mistake, understeer and gone wide in a low-grip part of the track. However, it didn't make sense for suffer wheel spin for several laps. Then he explained the reason with strange issue of PU/Brake.KimiRai wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:44Lap 1 Alonso tried to overtake Sainz on the outside of turn 2 similar to what he did to Gasly in 2021 but car understeered massively. Also there were battery issues during restarts according to Alonso which caused lower top speed , apparently a brake/PU issue which they still haven't fixed
Great race and 6 points that are huge with this car. Only one more to go and hopefully we can forget this season finally
