They should be in the mix again indeed, but I'd think Ferrari would have prefered the old, pre-2021 Abu Dhabi track. This more flowing one may suit McLaren better.

Have there been any significant changes since last year, by the way? The track was pretty bumpy in 2023.

Does anyone remember that awful year when they disabled the DRS...

Which driver to win? Sainz or Charles?

No, no, no Max will win. As a Red Bull fan I would also take a 1-2 for Ferrari with Max coming in third. Hoping of course Ferrari take the WCC.

A rear wing with as high frontal area ratio for (flap : mainplane) for DRS delta in sector2, and suspension that is softened enough for sector3, will be key.
Traditionally, this would mean Ferrari has the advantage. However, any of Ferrari/Mclaren could ace it. Redbull/Mercedes less so, as there are just too many slow turns in sector3 to suit their inherently stiff suspension.

It’s wild to imagine that in 15 years at this track, Ferrari has 0 wins

Tire starting pressure back down to "normal" here, with increased allowance of maximum camber both front and rear.

Should have some different consequences for the chassis and each set of attributes.

The surface is very flat here (left to right) hence some more camber possibilities, that fast section after #1 corner would likely benefit that's the left-right-left sequence. Also corner #9 as having the car sit continually hard on sidewalls like that can be enhanced more than some other sectors.

They don't appear to be concerned about tire durability from looking at those base settings, may bring some teams forward against MB pace in relative terms.

I’m expecting a comfortable Verstappen win! Both he and Red Bull have always been quick around Yas Marina!

22 points needed for Ferrari to win the WCC.
Almost near enough a 1-2 points place needed for Ferrari. Even 1-3 would only be 30 points so only 8 to be scored by McLaren. Big big ask, would effectively be behind the mercs and max for that to happen.

I like this helmet very much with that dark red and nice pictures and sentences on it. Such a nice guy, Zhou!

Always kept folding and switched to development for next season, so they never arrived to AD with a car competitive enough
