What a silly move by Max! It’s lap 1 turn 1…

Way too opportunistic…why try something like that when you know the guy in front is battling for a championship??

Unbelievable…
I think it’s quite silly from Piastri to squeeze Max in that corner.
Yeah that is exactly what happened right? Car on the outside isn't entitled to just turn in there?

10 seconds for these moves is too little. Nowhere near up the inside and ruins someones race.

Lol, rewatch the incident. The car is well alongside and hits the apex.

Maybe he’s indicating he’d rather see a Ferrari WCC.

Ok but why is this a penalty for Max? Car on the inside, well alongside and at the apex?
Because of the Brainless divebomb move

Is it common this year for people to receive penalties for T1 incidents?

Some will never realize what well alongside up is. When the braking starts, he is behind. Then decides to let go off the brake so gets somewhat alongside in the middle of the corner when the driver in front is already committed to the corner. Was penalized in Mexico and is penalized here too. Will be penalized going forward too. Just wish that it was harsher so we can have some real racing.

That is not an explanation. There was enough space on the inside, car is alongside and is at no point pushing the car even off the track. Piastri can't just expect to leave space and then expect a car trying to overtake him to disappear.

Drivers simply expect to take the racing line when other cars are near them? Lol.

Why they ever treated the first corner or first lap differently is beyond me. What, they cant make smart decisions or drive with as much skill on the first lap? Cold tires is not a reason.

So you went from nowhere up the inside to "somewhat alongside" in 2 minutes.

So explain what is being alongside then?

Probably because going into that corner there was no move on the table without a crash or both going wide
