Because you do not want to crash ?
So you agree then that it was overly optimistic and the penalty was deserved so stop posting asking how Verstappen deserved it
I do not agree it was overly optimistic. Max was well along the inside and did not expect Piastri to squeeze him. Especially not from someone who had more to loose in the first corner of the race.

I can be quite critical on Max his driving, in this case not so.
It was Piastri's corner. Verstappen only got there by releasing the brake early to get there

Why would he open the door for an overly optimistic dive bomb

If it was 10 laps into the race or what ever I think its a fairly clear penalty. But normally it seems like these are let go as first lap incidents - to an extent I would say the same as Piastri's penalty too straight out of the VSC.

It was a clear error on Max's part not often let for as first lap.

Ferrari would lose nothing by pitting Sainz onto mediums.

Yep. They lost the clear WCC chance with that when they were still in the 2sec range and more than 20laps to go. Hamilton on new Mediums shows clearly a sec pace advantage.

Absolutely mental, making that much fresher set of mediums stick on the outside of a car on graining hards, total goat move.

Well done McLaren on the WCC.

Well done for Ferrari for runners up and giving it everything this weekend.

Well done Charles and Lewis for spectacular drives from the back of the grid to good scoring positions.

Started 16th, drove through the field to beat his team mate who started 6th without any assistance from safety cars or even really incidents ahead. Beat Russell on pure pace.
