I have to say I am as surprised as you are. Why all the crazy ceremonies for a driver changing a team?

What on earth Hamilton!

Ridiculous race…he destroyed Russell! Last lap pass on the outside? Wow… =D>
Absolutely mental, making that much fresher set of mediums stick on the outside of a car on graining hards, total goat move.
Started 16th, drove through the field to beat his team mate who started 6th without any assistance from safety cars or even really incidents ahead. Beat Russell on pure pace.
Decent race agreed. Leclerc started 19th and finished 3rd for reference.

Longest and most successful driver/team partnership in the sport but saying that i think those who's last race it was should have at least been up there too

Your hatred of Lewis is as comical as it is unhealthy for you.

11 places gained with a sensational first lap. And don't get me wrong Charles had a phenomenal race.

Lewis only gained 4 places on lap 1, had to do the rest the hard way.

Definitely, charles’ first lap was much better than Lewis. Lewis being on hards at the start didnt help him in the beginning

Charles and Lewis were almost level a breast of each other after turn one, Charles on the right, Lewis on the left, it's just that the sea seemed to part open for Charles on the right side. Instinct? Luck? Who knows, but Charles had some serious pace in that first stint. Bodes well for next year's car..

Top drive from Carlos too. It's a great end to his four? years at Ferrari.

No hate, as a racing fan I just didn't think it was that special. Look who was behind him Russell and drivers with inferior equipment and or crashes and penalties. If you wish to celebrate this as a memorable drive, please go ahead, not everyone needs to agree :)

Didn’t Lewis have about as many overtakes on track after lap 1 though? He ”just” went long on his hards and pitted into relatively clean air while Leclerc carved his way through the field up to P4 with only Gasly pitting out of his way. Then he pitted and undercut Russell, while overtaking a few more cars on track, including Gasly.

Not at all to diminish Hamilton’s drive. It was incredible and at least on par with Leclerc. I just don’t think you can call it ”the hard way” when both were faced with very difficult and different strategic challenges.

I look forward to seeing Hamilton and Leclerc together next year. They both have such amazing racecraft and Hamilton has the championship winning experience that is sorely needed at Ferrari.

It was quite clear that the strategy of Lewis was the optimal one. As the temperatures dropped, there was some graining on the hards for everyone. So, while he drove a phenomenal race, Lewis also had the preferable strategy in retrospect.

Charles made it happen without an alternate strategy which was way more impressive imo. He had to actually make the overtakes, not just sit and wait for everyone to pit.

i thought LH pace on the hard was impressive, if he finished 25 secs behind his team mate, he wouldnt be near 4th.

Hamilton was quicker all weekend, but to fair, he also benefitted a bit from Russell getting stuck behind Gasly for most of the first stint, and everyone else in between pitting early.

This way, the strategy played out perfectly. With more, slower guys guys starting on hards as well, the result would have been different. The Mercedes wasn't really a car to pass with today.
