Hi guys,
I run a performance & fabrication workshop in Auckland, New Zealand, and once im finished with my current personal project, I'm looking to undertake something far more substantial. In NZ, we can register almost anything for use on the road, which includes scratch-built race cars. Of course there are certain requirements that the car must meet, for example, a full set of lights (heads, tails, parks, brakes etc) at a bare minimum. I've started the process of talking to a certifier regarding this so as I find out what can remain the same and what will have to be altered, I will update this post.
So that's the goal, a road-legal MP4/4 replica. Sounds crazy but just bare with me, it is possible to some extent. It may not end up looking exactly the same, and it probably won't handle or perform anything like the real thing, but it is worth diving deep into exactly how similar it could be.
What I'm looking for, is any sort of cross sections, diagrams, blueprints, details of components etc of the MP4/4. Photos of it with the shell removed, photos of the underbody, suspension setups, etc. Heck, a fully accurate 3d scan/model would be good. Whatever you may have, I'll need it to start compiling build plan blueprints to send to my certifier.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
