Speculation thread for Aston Martin's 2025 contender.

It will be an interesting season to see how the new tools (new simulator, new wind tunnel) and new personnel (Enrico Cardile, Adrian Newey) manage to create this car, but especially evolve it.

Any news about front suspension? Ferrari should change to Pull rod in the front.

Front suspension will be interesting and when or if the team switches into the new tunnel.

Krack said recently on their website that once the tunnel is online after commissioning (which will be shortly) they will need to learn how to use it properly first and results won't be seen immediately. Moreover he said in Abu Dhabi that the tunnel is "ready" in 2-3 months (Februar-March)

Will they ever use it for this car or exclusively for the 2026 car?

ive always been confused about how the windtunnel time is allocated each season. like, when would their "5th place credit" start, and when did the time from 2023 end? either way, it seems like the new WT will be up and running around the time newey shows up, and hearing him talking about getting a late start in developement of the 26 car, hell want to be using as much time as possible trying to make up for lost time. hopefully the fact that its on site means that they can more easily get both cars in there. maybe using the 25 car results to reaffirm that they have the correlations straight.

Since this is a speculation thread,can we speculate did Alonso personally asked Newey to look at 2025 car and help steer the development direction or not?

If Alonso not ,but Stroll papa for sure when they made empty the whole factory and Newey was there. Was no cameras etcetera. Anyway the new factory, windtunnel will add a lot just like Newey for sure.

I mean he just needs to look at different departments of the car and then make some phone calls.

Contractual obligations. He's supposed to do just gardening and nothing F1-related.

I know this isn't '25 related, but can Newey start designing a 2026 car? I mean it's impossible to control him sketching ideas at his home, the thing that is actually regulated (I think) is Aerodynamic testing. So, he right now is definitely learning the FIA 2026 regs by heart and he's starting to draw some ideas.

Apart from the '26 car, I believe Newey will definitely have some influence on the AMR25, he surely can look at the car and see some areas that need improvement. I also believe this car should be used to prove if the WT correlates or not, that's key for 2026 onwards.

Unfortunately nobody, even not Newey can tell what is wrong with the AMR24. But he can tell why is so good the Redbull or where come from the good tyre handles etcetera. And I'm pretty sure Aston know some things about Redbull already.

One question if will they get the new Mercedes rear axle.

I believe so, and I wonder when were they aware of it, is there anything legal to tell a customer team x months before ?

Basically they need to understand this year how to make the car evolve and work

That person used a different nick here and is banned for a while now. The reason was stubborn presentation og his pseudo science logic as facts and rejecting to accept actual explanations from engineers who actually work on engines, aerodynamics or suspension. Sharing his posts here does not contribute a meaningful technical discussion in any way

I know this is a bit off topic, but presumably the shift to Honda engines in 2026 is going to mean not taking the rear components from Mercedes any more and hence a lot more in-house work needed (gearbox etc)? Seems like a big step.
