2025 McLaren F1 Team

Post

A bright new future as defending champions for McLaren F1!

Andrea Stella declares unfinished business as the team pursue doing the double with a WDC for one of our brilliant young drivers the reward. Hopefully the withheld evolutionary floor, there is the basis for the continuing gains in performance that Neil Houldey spoke of with Autosport. Greater strategy from the pitwall will be vital to get on top of Max and Red Bull.

CocaCola Amatil have always been a fickle sponsor, a couple of years is about as good as it gets. Zak knows the sponsorship game better than anyone since John Hogan departed.

Is just a date/contract thing. They will be back before the season starts. Though with the higher rate card, I wonder if DarkTrace can keep the full rear wing rear

I never thought I would see an MLP name as a sponsor.

I hope they can get both title this year.
Anyway they should go full throttle for 2025!

Usually when rules change the best team is hurt, so 2025 is a better target than 26

The drivers rated Lando the second best driver of 2024 and Oscar the 5th best driver.

They won't be back and I'm not sure why you think they would. They've been removed because their contract ended and they've chosen not to renew. They'd have a new deal in place if they were going to stick around. This happens every year, the sponsors that are removed at the beginning of the year have literally never come back.

In the past, sponsors have dropped off Jan 1 only to come back as the season started. Coca cola is a good example of this

Correct, they've done this multiple times. I can't remember whether it's specifically during Melbourne or whichever race kicks off the season, e.g. Bahrain.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Cola Cola has done this before I do remember. However now that Monster Energy are a sponsor and are on the drivers bottles I’d be surprised if they are back sponsoring the team

No, Coca-Cola is the one and only example of this, the exception that proves the rule. I would be shocked if even one of those sponsors is back on the car.

Some arbitrary rankings of the drivers pairings.

Mclaren are at number 2.

I’d honestly put McLaren as no.1 at present, in the fact that the paring is a know quantity

Hamilton form is a big question mark. Given a car he can adapt to, he is unstoppable, but we have yet to see him adapt to a current gen car. Maybe the traits of the Ferrari will suit him, maybe they won’t

Leaving aside Hamilton, do you think Norris is a better driver than Leclerc? LOL even if Sainz had stayed at Ferrari it would still be a stronger pairing than Norris/Piastri. Charles>Lando>Carlos>Oscar. come on.
