Yea though about the cars hitting the middle potion but then it will not be much different from the pit lane entry I guess the same can happen there.. What I mean is that they can split the sections nicely. Its like having a possibility of a double racing line = overtaking = entertainment = $$Bernie$$

thort of that idea myself but it would just be to dangerous. Imagen it getting a bit tight, you'll get 1 car slamming on its brakes and getting wacked up the arse or just stright into the middle.
it would be too dangerous.

Valid point with the pit entry, but theres plenty of space there

Its debatable but if you notice at the Anderson bridge only one of the lanes is in use it would be an interesting prospect I would think that if they used both the sides. Basically the road spits into 2 and then rejoins to one. This may present an overtaking opportunity and also something new and interesting to truly make the circuit unique...
I agree that it would be an interesting change. In fact, here's a layout I posted on another board last year that had the option of using the bridge like you suggest, as well as a better layout for turns 1 & 2, and a fix for the awful 'singapore sling'...

After watching this year's race, I also think they need to get rid of the under-the-stands section - it doesn't seem to add anything and nixing it might provide an overtaking opportunity in the next corner. I think it was just an excuse to get the track by the harbor, which you can't see at night anyway.

The final turn needs to be something tight and twisty, preferably a hairpin of some kind, with as dirty/scuffy/slippy exit as possible (not sure how you can induce that on a track, but it must be possible). That way, cars stand a real chance of overtaking into turn 1.

That would be much better than as high speed corner that just spreads cars out as much as possible.

For example, the final three turns from turkey work well, or the final chicane at spa.

Other changes- not much you can do without the addition of some hills. Perhaps a few bits of the track could be wider (I'm thinking the bit across the iron bridge) but the circuit designers can be pretty proud, considering what they had to work with.

EDIT- oh thats neat Pup. I love the idea of a hairpin that tight with a long run in and exit. But it's gotta be tight enough to get rid of the aero effects, as opposed to the hairpin in Malaysia, that one doesn't help too much.

Two things are also needed in Singapore to actually make racing not an utopia. The 1st one is getting rid of all the dust that's off line. Even when you're 1m off line, the amount of dirt is incredible. See also how Glock managed to get Alonso in lap 1 after Alonso's tires got dirty when defending (unsuccessfully) from Webber. The 2nd thing needed is a deep and thorough resurfacing of the whole circuit so that it's as smooth as possible.

A good resurfacing, however, would almost kill the driver's input in Singapore.

EDIT: There must be changes to make the average speed higher. It would be great if the race took 10 to 15 minutes less. As it is, even some light showers will mean that the race is restricted to 2 hours.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Glad to see Singapore is considering at leat 1 of the changes that I thought could improve the track

The light-right-left zig-zag from Turns Seven to Nine could be changed into a simple 90 degree left-hander around the War Memorial, instead of inside it.
That would improve passing oppurtunities going into 7, and crate a fast kink where turn 9 curently is.
