'Zandvoort disappears from the Formula 1 calendar after 2026'

Ludo van Denderen

The Dutch Grand Prix will disappear from the Formula 1 calendar after 2026, De Telegraaf and NOS reported on Wednesday morning. Zandvoort is said to have extended its contract by one year, after which it wants to end its period in Formula 1.

The Dutch Grand Prix returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021 and it was an instant success. Max Verstappen won the DutchGP that year and also managed to win two editions after that in his own country. In 2024, victory went to Lando Norris, but the party in the stands continued.

Zandvoort's contract ran until 2025 and for a long time there was talk of a new contract with rotation possibilities. This would see Zandvoort alternate with other European circuits such as Spa and Imola. That is now not going to happen, as Zandvoort would like to stop.

Zandvoort did extend its contract with F1 by one year, which means it will still be on the F1 calendar in 2026.

A sprint race in the Dutch dunes will be organised in the final year.

He has to pay more than 800 000 000 taxes in the UK, so he needs the money. He doesn't have so much cash.

This is some serious car collection. It is amazing to see collections like this go for sale.

I would imagine Mr. Stroll will be looking to buy at least one of Bernie's cars!

From my understanding , the collection will be sold as a whole only. No selling of individual cars.
There are some follow up videos where Tom talks with Bernie about the cars in a bit of detail. You can see he's losing his memory a bit now though as Tom does most of the talking.
I also read that there are two "nation states" that have taken interest. So I'm guessing that's at least one country from the middle east. I hope this collection does not get locked away and that they get some of the more important cars up and running properly.

It's a rotational deal. Apparently they will do these now so they can accommodate lots of tracks at a packed calendar.

Spa, for me, is one of the best. It's a shock to hear that it will be rotated.

Not for me.

Real tension only due to bad weather under the current rules, otherwise boredom and especially boring if the weather was really bad. I like the track in the sim, but for F1...no. Spa was good in the past, but was really hurt by the current rule set. One of the rare tracks where it does not work. And I think with the new rules and engine clipping, this will just get worse.

It would be one of the closest tracks to my home, but I would never spend money to go there because of the very bad situation for spectators.

Much worse, that Zandvoort is gone. This is a track to visit and always interesting in races.
