Any word of AMR going to pull-rod front and push-rod rear? Wasn't it Fallows who insisted that it didn't matter?

AMR already has push-rod at the rear, but is for 1 last year only a passenger from Mercedes.

Another new partner, visible on the DRS mechanism. :)

Mercedes is reworking the suspension pick-up points at the rear, so should be good for AM.

Fallows showed that he understands concepts already done but he himself cannot innovate or build much on top of them. The 2023 was basically a 2022 RedBull philosophy, then by mid 2023 other teams were learning new things; how to go faster without porpoising... Then Fallows simply couldn't cunjure up what to do to keep up with them and so it showed up in a slow ass 2024 car.

Can anyone say they have confidence in the 2025 car when it has a very short gestation period? Aston didn't seem to solve any of the issues in 2024!

I don't know how I feel about this. It's basically telling Mike Krack that his role within the team has been downsized, but he is still trusted to deliver for the team on race weekends.

The fact he's been demoted to that role says to me he admitted his failures and didn't put up a fight. If this is the case big respect as giving up a role that high would be tough. I wonder if Newey has been whispering some ideas in Lawrence's ear so to speak.

All the talking will be done by the TP, lets see how he handles it.

Lawrence's five year plan is coming close to the end. Time is ticking.

Well, once again, Szafnauer already said 1-2 years ago that Krack was only the "trackside" leader and the real decisions in the factory have been made by Whitmarsh.

Cowell seems to be a fan of the old school approach. Team principal = boss. Flat structures.

Although I guess it's fair to say that Whitmarsh had a lot to do overseeing the development of the campus. But it will be good that Cowell will be present now at the races, in the strategic groups, etc.

McCullough obviously sidelined like Fallows. Let's see what ideas Cowell, Cardile (and Newey) have for the new man in charge of the perfomance department.

Anyway it would be interesting who is leading the 3 departments at the factory now. Furbatto still the leader of the engineering department? Blandin Aero (who was named deputy technical director in the past)?

A CTO it's the same as a TD?

Still I don't know what is going to be Newey's role in this structure. I assumed that Newey would be CTO. :wtf:

It's just a name, like Newey is officially "managing technical partner".

Cardile's role at AMR is described from the team as the same as he did at Ferrari or what Wache is doing at RBR. Newey's approach will also be the same as at RBR (with more power tough), he won't change with 66.

I’ve heard it thrown around over the years that Krack was always just an interim TP and was well aware of (and accepting of) that fact.

it hasnt seemed like Krack was your typical TP anyway really. i dont know what all of his everyday duties were, but his lack of f1 experience has always sort of made it seem like he was just put into that spot as a figurehead. his job may not change drastically, and having someone with more actual f1 experience in the TP roll now. i guess with all the new hires there was bound to be some restructuring. for stroll to be such a ruthless owner (supposedly) nobody has been really fired so far.

edit: i guess otmar may have something to say about that
