I wonder why/how they parted ways in the first place?

Got too much attention and annoyed Mercedes is what I read on X. If that's true I'll never forgive them, she was and is instrumental to lewis' mentality and helping him keep his head up.
Ridiculous theory from a ridiculous source.

She has a family, no? Probably wanted to not be on the road 80% of the year for a while.

I always got a sense she was burnt out and needed to take a break. I also got a sense she, Lewis, and Toto were always planning on retiring at the end of 2021 -- leave on a high -- until FIA's massive screw-up disregarding their own rules changed all that in Abu. So she gave it one more year, out of respect for Lewis, and then probably felt she was done (for now) and needed an extended break.

I doubt Mercedes was jealous of her excessive attention, especially because Lewis loves/needs her. And Mercedes needed Lewis.

Lewis said it was because she spent too much time away from her family travelling and wanted to try new things. that being said its interesting she's (presumably) gone all the way to Italy to work with him again.

I heard they didn't want Angela on Mercedes payroll and wanted Lewis to use their own internal staff. Angela was employed by the team and mercedes didn't want to pay her salary so lewis had to or she was let gone. I guess Angela wanted a break and so they said lets leave for a bit.

Some more behind the scenes clips from today

Will they also be on track tomorrow?

Edit: Also some words from Vasseur :)

Like every year, the first outing on track is a bit like going back to school and it's a very emotional feeling, especially since today was Lewis Hamilton's first day with the team. Welcoming a new driver is always an important moment. Maybe today was less special for Charles Leclerc, but it was good to see him fit, relaxed and excited to get back to racing.

On the technical side, Charles and Lewis completed their laps in unfavourable weather conditions, but they got back into the swing of things and immersed themselves in the track environment ahead of the first real tests in a month's time in Bahrain. It was also a warm-up for the team in the garage. That was the only purpose of the day.

Oh, wow she's really here!

I didn't really believe it was going to happen.

Also, it's going to be IMPOSSIBLE to fulfil this level of hype with results this year. I feel there's going to be a veeeery big CRASH back down to reality relatively soon.

I just hope it's done gracefully and without drama.

Also, please don't quote this post when I inevitably become heavily involved in any drama going forward
