The helmet is nice but I hate the font for the 16.

I hope he changes it before the season but I doubt it.

Lewis looks right at home in red. Also I wonder how much IBM is spending for such a prominent sponsor placement. I thought IBM was pretty much a failing company, but looking at their stock I couldn't be more wrong.
I used to work for IBM. Definitely not a failing company, though I can see why it would look like that from the outside
Same here. IBM has become very good at spinning off or selling, business units that are no longer profitable (eg PCs to Lenovo, printers to Lexmark etc). The services business is huge, and IBM mainframes dominate the finance and insurance industries still.
And still doing a lot of work for cutting edge node processes, which is ever more critical.

Very true, it’s been a while since I looked, but IBM’s research teams used to get more patents approved per year than any other company on earth, and they managed it for something like several decades straight.

Ferrari begins three days of TPC testing with the SF-23, which will run in Barcelona with Hamilton and Leclerc. After initial sessions in Fiorano, the team will have the opportunity to train the drivers and evaluate various setup adjustments, providing valuable insights into tire wear and starting strategies. This will follow the guidelines set by Technical Director Loic Serra.

The SF-23 must, of course, remain fixed with the developments used at the end of the 2023 championship, but Hamilton and Leclerc will be able to assess what is being referred to as the "Serra effect." The work of the two drivers will focus on analyzing two key aspects: tire wear, which had been one of the car’s Achilles’ heels two years ago, and race starts.

Technical Director Loic Serra, who has been warmly welcomed by the Maranello staff, has brought with him extensive knowledge of tires, making the trip to Barcelona particularly useful for developing tire strategies that will also benefit the 2025 car. Naturally, the tires being tested are not those intended for 2025 (designed to be less sensitive to overheating), as specific tires will be used for these TPC tests.

However, Ferrari will be able to evaluate with both drivers how tire behavior changes based on strategies employed during the warm-up lap, considering temperature and inflation pressures, and then analyze how performance evolves over the course of a stint.

The other area of focus is the race start. Ferrari engineers believe there is still room for improvement, not only in clutch operation but also in overall acceleration from a standstill when the lights go out. Electronics specialists are continuing to refine start strategies: while the clutch must be managed manually by the driver, the way power is delivered to prevent wheel slip can be optimized through a perfect blend of internal combustion engine output and the hybrid system, which only activates above 100 km/h.

Nice to see that Beganovic is getting some driving time this week. First time in an F1 car I think?

How would Duchessa know anything about McLaren or Mercedes?

He has connections everywhere now. His site covers all of F1 these days instead of just Ferrari.

Anyways, good to see Gio still in the fold. He's definitely a company man in the mold of Gene and Fisi.

Let's hope the 2025 car is a step forward and fighting from the start. The problem last year was a slow start compared to RB, troubled mid season upgrades but they came good in the end like they did in 23 too. The objective must be to start this season like they've ended others - fighting at the sharp end.

I hear Honda aren't happy with their 26 unit, I also hear Mercedes have a monster. Let's hope Ferrari are making good progress and can mount a challenge even if they turn out to be the BHP underdogs again.

1 tenth per month in development seems ambitious?

It sounds like the 2025 project is on the risky side! Hopefully it works out

Hamilton has had an accident with all his teams before his official debut

McLaren (2007) in Valencia
Mercedes (2013) in Jerez
Ferrari (2025) in Barcelona
