Any MCL39 clues from that bare halo? Can't believe the team has given us nothing so far!
With how tight this season might be, it feels unsurprising, if not dissapointing, that everyone is keeping tight lipped.

One small development worth .05 seconds could have been worth 2 or 3 grid places at times last year.

I'm actually enjoying this run up to testing without the often misleading teasers.

And a podcast, behind the scenes at Mclaren, with interviews from Zak Brown

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0kkwx9q
WARNING - Puff piece full of pretentiousness and devoid of interest to F1 fans.
Hmm, the talk about the finances, Zak talking about Stella turning the team around and Stella himself talking about what he knew was coming in the season ahead at the start of '24 and how no-one believed them was really interesting. Lovely to hear him talking about the "perfume" of the tyres in racing, really coming from a passionate racing standpoint. Surprising to hear that we have the biggest income of all the teams. Definitely some puff and rambling in there, but some good bits of information and stories, if you have the patience. It's just what you'd expect a 40 minute Podcast to be. I fast forewarded through the American "voiceover"/host to listen to the interviews.

Hey, no offence to you posting. It just seemed rather aimed at people who haven't yet caught the F1 bug.

That's fine, I'm just explaining that there are some interesting bits in there for all, though there is too much fluff.

I actually prefer it when teams are tight lipped about the new car, until it's close to pre season testing.
Should be a very competitive season. Sounds like McLaren held off on some upgrades to carry them over to the
2025 car. Won't be the only team who've decided to do that.

It certainly "feels" like they held something back for next year so as not to alert other teams. But there's been quite a few times where what the team says and what happens doesn't always line up, in terms of upgrades. Don't get me wrong, they deliver. But I'm in full on "wait and see" mode. Pretty excited to see what comes out at testing, in the meantime, just enjoying the general F1 chit chat in here, just keeping the pan warm, as it were  .

Maybe this is peak offseason boredom but I though the same thing. Obviously they could have centered that row if they wanted to, so maybe there is an announcement coming in the next month or so.

That was before they get everything lined up in terms of the technical organisation and the new wind tool plus other tools. We'll see if the extra performance was worth holding over into 2025 soon enough.
