Leclerc -
we see all the numbers we expected . Today we struggled a bit more with the balance , even yesterday afternoon it was a bit more difficult to manage, so there is still a bit of work to do.
I would prefer to wait before making any predictions," Leclerc underlined. "For now we are working hard to try to improve this balance , which we have struggled a bit to put in the right place in the last two days. After that we will only see in Melbourne when we will have everything in the best conditions to try to extract the best from the car, but basically we struggled a bit more in the balance, and that is where we are concentrating now.

Leclerc press conference:

The race simulation from yesterday is a first glimpse of what we can expect, but there are a lot of unknowns still so we need to take it with a pinch of salt. However, it was an important run to understand where we were lacking compared to McLaren and how I feel about the car. And like I've been saying we still have work to do before Melbourne on the balance.
But he did say they are lacking. But but he only mentions McLaren, so this is not that bad since it was expected to be behind McLaren.

That race sim attempt (only assuming to be one, but we don't know really) was really atrocious. Started slow and tires were cooked in 3 laps too. Might have tried some extreme setup with Leclerc's data yesterday, but maybe the higher temps threw them off-balance completely.

Yeah Ham is on the c3, so I have no explanation for that shockingly bad stint
He's on c4, but that's not a race sim.
No banding on the tyre so c3?

And it's quite possible it was a race sim but they abandoned it after the tyres were ruined

Maybe they tested something, but with 1hr30 left they went out with full tank on c3 tyre which looked like a 1st stint until they hooked him in, presumably to make setup changes.

Hamilton hasn't done a full race simulation yet, and that would've been a perfect time to do one. It all just points to the setup being horrific
Seems that stint likely was an aborted race simulation, given Hamilton said he was planning to do one

As I mentioned a few months ago, it will take time for the team to find the right set up with the new suspension. Personally I think they will lose a few points at the onset and will have to try to recover these points as the season progresses as they gain further knowledge. Let's keep calm please.

Being behind Mclaren isn't bad? Mclaren is the target. It's literally the only team on the entire grid that they needed to be aiming to match or preferably beat. Anything less than that means they will not be fighting for a championship.

Yes, it'd still be nice to be ahead of Merc/Red Bull, but the hope for this year was not just the status quo...

I thought yesterday the car was pretty good, straight line speed and cornering were pretty good, it feels like they went a long way today in search of tuning, I still think the car was good, yesterday it hit like that

Ok but the last championship won by Ferrari was in 2007, we are almost close to 20 years without a cup for Ferrari. How many months they need to adapt when the engineers decide to switch on a new solution?
If other teams are able to set up the car in winter, Ferrari need all season to do that and every time they start with a gap against others.

It over guys. No sugar coating, no pessimism, just the straight truth. There was just too much hype this off-season, that everyone presumably forgot 3 other big teams existed. Never change Ferrari.

Last year at Merc HAM was often subject to extreme setup testing which many thought was the team trying to sabotage him. However, seems like that may be his preferred method being carried over to Ferrari? In any case, seems like something def went wrong with the race sim. Maybe his times were bad because of whatever problem caused them to end running early?
