Cardille still doesn't work at Aston, and not even this year, What a news.

https://www.motor.es/formula-1/aston-ma ... 06940.html
Ugh... any other surprises?

If you remember last year, Ferrari wanted a full year of gardening from him. That would have taken him to June/July 2025. That AM F1 was trying to negotiate an earlier release. Then someone said he would start in Jan, like someone had negotiated early release. Obviously not, guess he's still coming in June/July.

I kind of forget. I really thought he was working with the team since January.

BTW, I wasn't targeting you with that. Just speaking out in general ....

We all kind of thought he was, till we started to hear noise that he wasn't.

Looking forward to the first Grand Prix in a weird way. Have no clue how Quick the aston is in race or qualy trim. Definitely the weirdest testing programme from a team I can ever remember.

Hopefully the new simulator will help like it did in qatar and Abu Dhabi last year

They Knewn all time where they are https://soymotor.com/f1/noticias/alonso ... de-vueltas , so, some people think 2025 is transitional year to Aston and other think the AMR25 is a blanck canva waiting for Newey https://www.planetf1.com/news/ted-kravi ... ey-arrival . Early today Alonso said is waiting for changes in the car and not because of that new flex wings regulations. Another though year and for us, just pray and wait. for at least, we have Adrian Newey next week.. Or like Cardille, we'll find this wekend he is not coming yet hahaha

On Sky F1 today in the end of the last session they were discussing which team should be happiest (Ferrari) and saddest after the test. Ruth Boscombe and Bernie Collins said Aston should be saddest, and Croft seemed to agree. So lots for Newey to work on from Monday, unless they have been hiding their cards.

Newey will focus 99,9% on the 2026 car.

Maybe, but I'm sure Lawrence will push him to at least improve the AMR25 a bit too.

Newey will have total control in the factory, 100%.

He knows 2025 is toast. He will focus for 2026 in order to deliver a car competitive for the win, at least aero wise.

I dont think you should be taking what those talking heads seriously at all.

Not saying AM are in a great spot, just that those folks aren't any kind of experts whose opinions are worth more than anybody else paying attention.

I mean, I saw that same segment and the whole gist of Ferrari being supposedly happy is that Lewis is integrating well. This is just British reporter nonsense playing to the crowd.

I totally agree that they are always pro UK drivers. And yeah I don't take their word as gospel, but Bernie at least worked at Racing point, so she is not just a talking head. But let's see what happens at race one. I have confidence that Newey can get more out of the car just by being there and giving some tips on setup etc., maybe I'm overly optimistic. Williams looks like they have done some good work though, that seems pretty clear.

High DF, draggy car or low engine mode? Slowest both with DRS on and off on this chart. But McLaren also look to be running on low engine modes here.

I told to my mom ( she doesnt understand absolutely nothing about F1) the Aston Martin situation, better buldings, engenniers, last year regulations, new regulations coming, everything and i asked her....u should invest a little money to improve some this year and reduce the 2026 focus a little for build up the team confident on theirself looking for 2026 and rest of the money and time on 2026 OR u should forget 2025 and being the worst team this year and focus 100% in all aspects in 2026?

She didnt hesitate in her answer: 100% in 2026 for garantie a winning team.
So, Flavio Briatore, Alpine, James Wolves and Williams agree with my mom, and even that, built their car better than Aston. Some of us would like to see Newey give a new life to AMR25, but, could be the wrong decision.

The greastest part is the 2026 pre season will have a lot of days and start in January,
2025 will be interest to follow AM will do about their car, and news about how Newey is "flowing"

2026 is pretty much dependent on Honda. If they give us a good engine Newey can work his magic. If not, not even Newey can overcome that. So I hope he can at least try to help a little with 2025 development.

I think that Newey will focus mainly on the 2026 car BUT before he does that he needs to find out why Aston had so many problems with understanding their car and improving it. There is no point in going full-ahead into the 2026 project when your tools are not working how they want them to for the last 2 seasons. Let's just hope that they will get AMR25 where they want it to be.

AMR25 is a good improvement over AMR24, this whole test was too chaotic to judge Aston's performance based on the times or speeds we got.
