I also get that sometimes when trying to go to a forum thread, but going back to the front page, and pressing update, and then try again has fixed the issue for me every time that happened

Same for me.

I occasionally get them from the ‘new posts’ page going into a new thread, but refreshing the page by the URL bar sorts it out

Yep this seems to be the main workaround at the moment.
